File consists of correspondence relating to the unsuccessful Hoffman-Russell Molybdenum Syndicate. The syndicate was created in 1939 to investigate cobalt and molybdenite deposits near Cobalt, Ontario and was dissolved in 1941 due to poor war-time financial conditions.

Wright-Rouyn

File consists of correspondence between Arnold Hoffman and Colonel Thain W. MacDowell, the president of Wright Rouyn Gold Ltd. The correspondence predominantly deals with the development of the Wright Rouyn and Stadacona gold mines. Several letters reference early events of World War II, including Neville Chamberlain's appeasement policy and the beginning of the Adriatic Campaign in 1939.
