Dalcroze Eurhythmics teaching and other materials

Series consists of materials related to Madeleine Boss Lasserre’s career and interests as a music educator of children and adults in Toronto, Ontario. Most of the material was created between 1925 and 1977, while Lasserre was actively employed with the Margaret Eaton School and the Toronto Conservatory of Music. A small subset of the records were created outside of this time period. Records include: Dalcroze teaching and demonstration notes and diagrams; correspondence with colleagues and students; material pertaining to general early childhood education; and material related to the administration and promotion of courses in Dalcroze Eurhythmics. File consists of correspondence and other materials pertaining to the establishment of a certificate-granting professional Dalcroze Centre at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Lasserre photographs

File consists of photographic prints of Madeleine Boss Lasserre, likely taken circa 1950. Also includes one photographic print of the Flonzaley String Quartet, signed by Adolfo Betti, Alfred Pochon, Félicien d'Archambeau, and Nicolas Moldavan. This latter print would likely have been taken after d'Archambeau joined the quartet in 1924 and before it disbanded in 1928.
