1991-015

The accession consists of 19 boxes of records. 8 series were established: Subject Files: Correspondence & Clippings, Manuscripts, Audio Tapes, Slides, Videos, Photographs and Framed Material, Posters-Paintings-Scrapbooks, Cartographic Materials.

The first two series, Subject Files and Manuscripts were arranged in file folders entitled by Prof. Pollock. The original order was kept and the documents were put into acid neutral file folders and titles were transcribed verbatim. Manuscripts include Pollock's novel Gabriel, plays, poems and the unpublished After the funferal and Soviet journal.

Audio tapes of interviews conducted by Prof. Pollock were not in any particular order. An effort was made to put the related ones together and the titles assigned by Harry J. Pollock were maintained. There are also audio tapes of music for his plays

Slides consist of those that Prof. Pollock used in the plays Night Boat from Dublin and Giacomo de Trieste, these were removed from the boxes and slide carousels and placed in archival slide sheaths. They are listed by play tittle in the original sequence in which they were shown. Duplicate and additional slides are listed according to subject. Titles given by Harry J. Pollock were kept.
The three videocassettes include one entitled Portrait of the artist-is there one who understands me? and two of Japan.

Accession 2000-006

Accession consists of files from the Isaacs Gallery including records of bills paid, artists' files, correspondence, Inuit files/Inuit London, photo portfolios and artists' books, and several works of art.

Accession 2008-015

Accession consists of slides providing an overview of Isaac's gallery exhibits over the decades. Most of the slides are shots of artists' works and are annotated with the artist's name, the title of the work, the date the work was created, the medium used, and the dimensions.

Accrual to the M.G. Vassanji fonds

The accession consists of records pertaining to M.G. Vassanji’s literary career, including: full and partial draft manuscripts of novels, short stories and speeches; personal correspondence; royalty statements, professional correspondence pertaining to literary festivals, prizes, conferences, permission to use work in other publications, and invitations to events and speaking requests; media packets, clippings and reviews regarding Vassanji’s books and Giller prizes; and records pertaining to his education, subsequent honorary degrees, and his investiture into the Order of Canada.

Accession 2023-007

Accession consists of a typescript manuscript, "Geographical Guide to Ontario," written by John Warkentin from the late 1980s to 1991, preceded by a summary of the project prepared by Professor Warkentin in March 2023. The manuscript is an impressionistic description of the province based on his field observations, emphasizing physical, urban, and rural landscapes of Ontario, its economic infrastructure, and interrelationships. The manuscript consists of 1,100 pages with 278 maps and 41 tables.

Accrual to the Leo Panitch fonds

Accession consists of records documenting Leo Panitch's scholarly work and academic career. These records include research materials, notes, correspondence, speaking notes, draft articles, essays and other manuscripts, and conference materials pertaining to Panitch's work from the 1970s to the early 2000s, including preliminary writing and research for The Making of Global Capitalism. Also included are correspondence, manuscripts and other material pertaining to his tenure as editor of the Socialist Register, as well as notes and papers written during his undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba, notes and examinations from his graduate coursework at the London School of Economics (LSE), and research materials and correspondence relating to his PhD dissertation, also at the LSE. Accession also includes a series of headshot photographs of Panitch.

Accrual to the Judith Cowan fonds

Accession consists of: printed correspondence sent Canada Post and email, including many colour digital images taken by Judith Cowan and others, 2022-2023; Cowan's unfinished novel, "A Better Class of Illusion," with handwritten annotation, 25 October 2019; a brochure for the 39e Festival International de la Poesie; and letters to Cowan by her friend Dr. Hector L. van Vierssen Trip, accompanied by his essays on Alpertus on church and state, Germanic linguistic studies, Latin in biology, his trip to the Netherlands in 1988, and a history of the Trip family, 1978-1990.

Accession consists of materials donated by Inez Elliston in 2014. It includes research materials, education and teachers modules, publications and other documentation relating to Elliston’s work with the Scarborough Board of Education, and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society project, Woman as Volunteers.

1992-027

The series of correspondence and clippings relate to Pollock's many interests, particularly in Temple Sinai, the James Joyce Society, and travel. The manuscripts are of plays that he wrote and directed, including multiple copies annotated for different purposes. Published material consists of 9 volumes of Thom's Directory (1852-1950) and one volume of The Dublin Almanac and General Register of Ireland (1847). The 15 watercolour paintings are by Jane Golden.

Accession 2006-026

The accession consists of notes, edited manuscripts, and research materials related to various published and unpublished works by Hédi Bouraoui, including “La Tour CN,” “La Pharaone,” “Musocktail,” and “Bangkok Blues.” It includes personal and professional correspondence, as well as clippings about Bouraoui and reviews of his work. This accession also contains several sound and audiovisual recordings of poetry and novel recitals, conferences, and interviews.

Accession consists of teaching files for Ellenwood’s undergraduate and graduate level courses, files pertaining to the research and writing of his PhD thesis on André Breton and Sigmund Freud, academic files consisting of drafts of papers and talks delivered by Ellenwood at various conferences, translation files consisting of drafts of his translation work and publishing files that document his own writing efforts including correspondence, research material and drafts of "Egregore: The Montréal Automatist Movement".

Accession 2008-056 is an accrual to the Rhombus Media fonds and consists of master negatives of some of its finished works, together with textual, photographic, graphic and prop materials relevant to the film production process and the wider context of the company’s activities.

Accession 1998-014 [poster collection]

Accession consists of posters accumulated by Issacs. A significant portion of the accession, over 200 posters, pertains to local interest including the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and local and international shows by artists such as Heather Cooper and Michael Snow. Toronto posters also announce events such as the 10th anniversary of the art collective, General Idea, at the CN Tower; an album-release party of the band, Parachute Club; and a call to arms on behalf of the fight against the Spadina Expressway. Many posters also promote local theatre productions including Keanu Reeves' performance in Brad Fraser's 'Wolfboy' in 1984 at the Theatre Passe Muraile and a series of Toronto Workshop posters by Theo Dimson. Other posters are a cross-section of Canada from the Montreal Olympics series, 'Artists-Athletes', and the 1973 Winnipeg Art Gallery exhibition, the Structure of Comic Books, featuring MArvel Comics characters as Nick Nury and Thor. There are 74 international posters, the largest groups are those from Paris in the 1950s and 1960s including a poster featuring George Bracqu's 'Theogonie.' There are also several gallery posters from Amsterdam, New York, Chicago and Minneapolis representing artists such as Jim Dine, Robert Rauschenberg, Claes Oldenberg and Christo.
