Fonds consists of records pertaining to Daniel Drache’s work as a professor of political science at York University, his role as director of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies, his academic writing and research. These records include correspondence, draft and published articles, course materials and student papers, research materials, grant applications, project proposals, as well as audio cassettes and DVDs. A small amount of personal correspondence and photographs are also part of this fonds.

File consists of an introduction and notes for closing comments written by David V.J. Bell for Drache's book of essays, "Staples, Markets and Cultural Change", to commemorate the Innis centenary.

David Leyton-Brown letter : reappointment

File consists of a letter written to Drache by Leyton-Brown, dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies at York University, confirming his 1998 reappointment as director of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies. Also included in the file is an agenda for a 1999 Robarts Centre board meeting, a 1999 letter by Drache to Michael Stevenson, vice-president of Academic Affairs, and a memorandum from Nick Rogers to Drache about his appointment, and a Sept. 1998 letter sent to Drache from Robarts Centre visiting scholar Ian V.B. Johnson on his work while at York.

File consists of letters sent to participants in a seminar organized by Drache and Richard Higgott entitled "Governing the public domain beyond the era of the Washington Consensus?: Redrawing the line between the state and the market". These letters concern guidelines for the publication of participant papers in a book, which became "The market or the public domain?: global governance and the asymmetry of power", edited by Drache and published in 2001.

East Coast Worker

File consists of 13 issues of the "East Coast Worker", including 10 back issues sent to Drache from publisher Alan Story. Included is an accompanying letter from Story.

File consists of e-mail correspondence exchanged between Drache, Shelley Hornstein and others pertaining to organizing and financial planning for the Innis centenary activities.

File consists of correspondence exchanged between Drache and Engin F. Isin regarding Isin's draft book proposal for "Rights to the city: citizenship, democracy and cities in a global age", which is also included in the file.

English Canadian response to Meech Lake

File consists of notes, drafts and versions of Drache's article, "An English Canadian nationalist response to Meech Lake", published in the Globe and Mail under the title "Meech Lake: a wholly undemocratic process", co-written with Mel Watkins. Also included is a photocopy of an article co-written with Mel Watkins, Frank Cunningham, Ashley McCall, Stephen Clarkson and Abraham Rotstein entitled "La solution: un Canada binational" published in Le Devoir.

File consists of correspondence, contact lists, a copy of Drache's CV, and a letter of intent sent to SSHRCC pertaining to his efforts to secure funding for his research project entitled "Auditing public domains: the limits and enhanced capabilities of the state - a proposal for a multi-disciplinary, comparative enquiry on governance and state practice in an era of global markets".

File consists of memoranda, correspondence and request forms pertaining to arrangements for Drache's sabbatical year in France. Some items are written in French.

File consists of a draft version of a paper or chapter written by Drache entitled "Free trade: jobs, sovereignty and growth", as well as draft speaking notes entitled "Free trade: the new Maginot Line?".

File consists of a notice and agenda for a debate between John Crispo and Drache on the subject of Free Trade, held at Georgian College, in Barrie, Ont. Also included are copies of newspaper clippings about an earlier debate on the subject held at the college.

File consists of a programme, budget incoming and outgoing correspondence pertaining to the organization of a conference/workshop on global political ecology held at the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University on 24-27 February 1994, part of Innis centenary celebrations.

File consists of papers presented at the George Grant Symposium, held at Erindale College, University of Toronto, on 2 April 1977, including a paper by Drache. Guide to Innis materials at the Rockefeller Archive Center

File consists of a descriptive guide to the Harold Innis-related records held at the Rockefeller Archive Center, as well as photocopies of those materials, which are primarily correspondence and memoranda originally written by Innis between the 1930s and 1950s. The guide was created by Drache's research assistant, Matthew Evenden.

Also included is a description of another independent study project entitled "Canada in a North American perspective", from the 1992-93 Milliken Pond Canadian Constitutional Conference.

Industrial relations and law : DD & HG

File consists of a draft program of seminars on the subject of industrial relations and the law, coordinated by Drache and Harry Glasbeek. Also included is a form letter written by Drache and Glasbeek about "Dear Mr. Mulroney" letters that they were distributing to mobilize Canadians against free trade.

Innis : birthday celebration

File consists of correspondence, draft event programmes, a contact list and a research bulletin pertaining to the organization of events and publications pertaining to the Innis centenary and Drache's involvement as a member of the Toronto organizing committee.

Innis : Fisher, Donald

File consists of a paper and accompanying letter by Donald Fisher entitled "Harold A. Innis and the Canadian Social Science Research Council: an experiment in boundary work". Fisher presented this paper at an Innis conference held in Montreal.
