Fonds consists of nine handwritten notebooks containing the sermons written by William Clark for services held in several locations throughout Canada West (later Ontario), including Blenheim, Burford, Plattsville, Port Dover, and Toronto. The sermons created during the 1870s were written in Baldwinsville and Greenpoint, which were likely communities on Long Island, New York. Each sermon begins with a title and the underlying biblical text, and often include the numbers of the hymns sung during the service.

Fonds consists of registers of British vessels employed in the coasting trade on Canada's Atlantic coast. One volume records vessels that arrived at Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, between 1876 and 1906, and the other volume lists vessels that departed from this port between 1876 and 1910. The registers include date of entry, rig and name of vessel, the master's name, port of departure or destination, whether the vessel was carrying cargo or ballast, and the number of tons and crew permitted under transire or coasting license.

Fonds consists of textual records about the life of George E.A. Reid, including birth, baptismal, and death certificates, high school yearbooks, personal correspondence, and personal papers from throughout adolescence and adult life, as well as material relevant to his professional working life. The records also include information about his family, including the diary writings of his mother, Bessie Ellis Reid, and his wife, Olive Reid. Fonds also consists of correspondence sent between family members and received by family members. Also included are 12 large scrapbooks containing cards, photographs, newspaper clippings, and other material created by, collected and arranged by George E.A. Reid and family. Also included in the fonds are Reid's personal and family photographs and various forms of Reid's artwork and music, including drawings, sketches, paintings, graphic print artwork, and some original musical compositions. The fonds also contains 35mm and large-format colour transparencies taken by George E.A. Reid of the family and flower gardens, as well as a binder containing original animation cells from "Life with Cecil" (1960), a short film animated by Reid, and other artwork including hand-painted cartoon movie title stills, sketches on tracing paper, and other hand-drawn cartoons. Also, there are 18 8mm film reels of home movies and family trips, as well as 2 audio cassettes that include Dianne Reid's interview with George's older brother Ted, and a recorded musical collaboration between George E.A. Reid and his youngest daughter, Stephanie.

A book and pamphlet collected by George E. A. Reid through his schooling and work and donated with the fonds have been added to Special Collections, and are accessible through York University Libraries' catalogue.

The fonds consists primarily of colour slides and black and white negatives that chronicle Lawson's activities over 25 years as a CBC production designer, particularly with colleague and friend, producer Norman Campbell, and their collaborations for CBC artistic television productions such as The Gondoliers (1962), Romeo and Juliet with Celia Franca (1965), Hansel and Gretel with Maureen Forrester (1970), Giselle (1975), Cinderella with Veronica Tennant, Jeremy Blanton and Lois Smith (1968), Swan Lake with Erik Bruhn and Lois Smith (1961 and 1967), the Nutcracker with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (1974), la Rondine with Teresa Stratas (1971), The Wonder of It All (1972), and the Karen Kain Super Special (1978). Other programs documented include More Joy in Heaven (1964), Hatch's Mill, The Masseys, Stephen Leacock, Wayne and Shuster television specials, A Case for the Court, Troubled Heart, Wojeck, and The Road among other programmes. There are also previously unseen photographs of pianist Glenn Gould with violinist Yehudi Menuhin in 1965, and in conversation with Bruno Monsaingeon in 1980. The photographs include many candid shots of iconic Canadian stage and television personalities including Gordon Pinsent, Celia Franca, Karen Kain, Veronica Tennant, Nadia Potts, Erik Bruhn, Norman Campbell, Wayne and Shuster, Christopher Plummer, Maureen Forrester, Margot Kidder, Robert Farnon, and others. Records also include some storyboards, drawings, slides and notes related to the Chroma-Key technique developed by Lawson and Campbell, program reviews, clippings, complimentary and congratulatory letters to and from Lawson, and about Lawson's work.

The fonds consists of a taped interview conducted by Mr. John Hardy (of the York University Archives) with John Conway together with transcriptions of the interview and some subsequent correspondence between the two (1975). In addition, there are copies of correspondence between Conway and the editor of the Globe and Mail concerning an article in the paper and a copy of a 'Report to the Board of Governors on the college system at York University,' (May 1970) by Conway. For the Ontario Advisory Committee on Confederation there are verbatim minutes of meetings (1965-1970), as well as background reading and reports, memoranda and resolutions prepared by and for the committee. The prepared papers discuss economic, cultural, and constitutional issues. The background material consists of published proceedings of federal-provincial conferences (Confederation for Tomorrow), material submitted to royal commissions (Bilingualism and Biculturalism), newspaper articles, articles published in academic journals, government reports and related material.

Fonds consists of records created and maintained by Alexander Israel Wittenberg, pertaining to his career as a mathematician, university professor and researcher of mathematical education, mathematical philosophy and general educational policies. The fonds includes Wittenberg’s correspondence with leading scientists, mathematicians and education specialists from across Europe and North America, reflecting his involvement with research pertaining to these issues, as well as to various other initiatives, debates and policy discussions. Other series in the fonds contain records relating to the academic courses that Wittenberg developed and taught and his involvement with the governance of York University during his tenure as a faculty member and which attest to his vision regarding the University’s future pedagogical direction; records from his time as a student in Zurich; most of his scholarly output and public engagements since the late 1940s and until his death in 1965; and some sound recordings containing radio broadcasts made by Wittenberg. The fonds also contains several personal records of both Wittenberg and his close family members, as well as photographs and newspaper clippings.

Upon his death, Wittenberg left behind him several unfinished projects. Amongst these are two manuscripts, the first, titled “Education: the unfulfilled promise,” is based on a series of lectures that he broadcasted on CBC radio during March and April 1965. The second manuscript, “Number – a case study in knowledge,” is based on an interdisciplinary mathematical-philosophical course that Wittenberg delivered to first- and second-year students at York University. Also included in the collection are initial notes and drafts relating to two other projects that Wittenberg was planning: a biography of Albert Einstein whom he perceived as a symbol for the ability to successfully combine scientific excellence with strong and unbending moral values, and a university-level textbook on vector algebra.
