Accession consists of records pertaining to Keith Ross Leckie’s work as a writer and/or director for television dramas and documentaries. These records document the various stages of development for projects including “Searching for Romero” (unfinished), “Edenshaw”/”Haida” (not produced), “The Force” (not produced), and “An Officer and a Murderer” (produced for Lifetime and HBO Canada in 2012). Textual records in this accession are proposals, treatments, interview selects, assembly notes, budgets, funding applications, draft scripts, outlines, notes, correspondence, research materials, contracts and court transcripts. "An officer and a murderer" : correspondence and notes

File consists of Leckie's notes and copies of e-mail correspondence exchanged between Leckie, lawyer Lon Hall, director Norma Bailey, executive producers Mary Young Leckie and Tom Patricia, and network executive Stephen Bulka, regarding revisions to the script.

"Captive hearts" : research materials and correspondence

File consists of records pertaining to the potential development of a film by Screen Door Inc. about the abduction and confinement of James Loney, Tom Fox, Norman Kember and Harmeet Singh Sooden in Iraq in 2005-2006. Records in this file include Leckie's report on a research trip to New Zealand to interview Singh Sooden regarding this project and his experience as a hostage, as well as draft versions of a film treatment, correspondence, including e-mail correspondence exchanged with Singh Sooden, Leckie's notes, draft release forms, and newspaper and magazine articles about this story.
