Fonds consists of records accumulated and retained by Malcolmson and Barber and include copies of the Waffle Newsletter, documents pertaining to the NDP convention in Winnipeg in October 1969, resolutions prepared by the Waffle movement for consideration by riding associations, union locals and youth clubs, minutes of meetings of the National Waffle organization, miscellaneous items pertaining to various Waffle groups from British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Toronto in particular, discussion and draft policy papers, correspondence between Wafflers, and an off-air excerpt of a CBC documentary about the challenge from the Waffle at the 1969 NDP Convention. Fonds also includes Barber's research notes pertaining to the Liberal Party of Manitoba during the 1960s, and copies of newsletters and Liberal Party conference delegate lists collected by Barber as a member of the Manitoba Young Liberal Association, and a book on Manitoba politics containing a chapter written by Barber on Manitoba's Liberals, 2010.

General note

Kim Malcolmson and Paul Barber were active participants in the Waffle movement that flourished in the New Democratic Party of Canada between September 1969 and its collapse in the mid-1970s. Malcolmson served as the secretary of the Waffle National Housekeeping Committee while Barber was in Manitoba during this period.
