History

The Rendezvous Club of Toronto was formed in 1937, the creation of Anna Hunter's Social Group of Retired Women Teachers. The goal of the organization was to provide a way for members to maintain friendships made during the teaching years through social activities, and also to support the work of the Ontario Association of Superannuated Women Teachers (O.A.S.W.T.) in maintaining adequate pensions for retired teachers. The group's constitution details the duties of the executive including liaising with the Women Teachers' Association of Toronto, and with the O.A.S.W.T., and maintaining and documenting the history of the organization.
