File consists of a newspaper article by Zena Cherry regarding the ball put on by the Canadian Brazil Society at the Sutton Place Hotel, 21 February 1972; correspondence with the Consul of Brazil; correspondence with members of the Birks family in Montreal regarding Anna Maria de Souza's work to organize the Madame Butterfly Ball, the Opera Ball, and an event on behalf of Mount Sinai Hospital, as well as her success in making Birks' silver collection more accessible to the public, 1979-1980; correspondence with individuals and organizations who benefited from Anna Maria's work on the Brazilian Carnival Ball and other fundraising events, including the Variety Club, Fredrik Eaton and the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), J. Trevor Eyton of Brascan, G.E. Connell, President of the University of Toronto, and June Callwood, 1983-1986; a letter from the Stratford Shakespearean Festival Foundation thanking Anna Maria for organizing the Midsummer Night's Dream Gala Ball, 1985; a letter regarding her contribution to the Zena Cherry Roast on behalf of Camp Oochigeas, 1986; correspondence regarding Michael Doran's efforts to nominate Anna Maria for the Order of Ontario and a Civic Award of Merit, with correspondence from Pauline McGibbon, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, and G. Emmett Cardinal Carter, 1986; and a letter of congratulations on the 25th anniversary of the ball by Art Eggleton, Mayor of the City of Toronto.
