Arrangement
Odom organized the materials into four loose categories: programs, serial programs and magazines, flyers, and newsletters. These categories each have different organizational schemes and follow one another consecutively in the file list. Following Odom’s original order, programs are ordered first into four decades--1972-1979; 1980-1989; 1990-1999; and 2000-2008--then are further arranged alphabetically by the creator, venue, or production company that staged the event. Miscellaneous programs are filed at the end of each decade. Serial programs and magazines –primarily programs produced by third party companies for various performing arts venues--were also maintained in Odom’s original order, organized by title(e.g. Performance magazine), venue(e.g. The National Ballet of Canada), or event(e.g. Guelph Jazz Festival). Flyers are arranged alphabetically by the creator, production company, or venue that staged the event, with miscellaneous flyers filed at the end. Odom began collecting flyers in the 1990s. Before this date, items that may be classified as flyers are arranged with programs. Newsletters are also arranged alphabetically by the creator, production company, or venue that published them, with miscellaneous newsletters filed at the end.
