File contains an annotated bibliography on foreign students and Canadian foreign policy; a Young World Mobilization Appeal newsletter; notes on the history of Canadian Service for Overseas Students and Trainees; and March, 1966 minutes of Friendly Relations with Overseas Students at the University of Western Ontario.

File contains the first draft of an added chapter, written after the rest of the manuscript, inserted as chapter five and titled "What is a Canadian? The long journey to multiculturalism: part of the search for a Canadian identity."

Odyssey ch. 3 notes

File contains key letters, articles, clippings and historical sources isolated by Simpson for consultation in preparing this chapter. Simpson annotated some items with explanations.

Odyssey ch. 3 : old research leads

File originally contained a series of copied articles (printed negative microfilmed books) including resources on Baptists, the American Colonization Society, an excerpt from a "biennial oration" and other topics. The records had deteriorated to the point of illegibility so all but one were removed.

File contains a commemorative Bible for Nigerian independence in 1960 and "The radical Bible" translated from German published in 1972.

File includes a brochure on the African-American Institute, a "Christianity and crisis Christian journal of opinion" issue on Africa, a Student Christian Movement of Canada newsletter, an edition of Africa Report magazine, a reprinted Maclean's article on African leadership and a 1961 booklet published by the American Council for Nationalities Service titled "Americans Abroad: questions you'll be asked about your country" with a foreword by President John F. Kennedy.

File contains reports on Crossroads, letters, a biography of Rev. James Robinson, and a transcript of the interview with Simpson done at the University of Western Ontario in 1983.

File includes several miscellaneous letters, a travel itinerary called "To Africa" for a "goodwill tour" made in 1960 by Hamilton residents, a report of "the impressions and recommendations of The Hamilton Goodwill Africa Group - results of African experiences, 1960," and an invitation to the 3rd annual dinner of the HGAF.

Odyssey ch. 2 : Canadian Crossroads Africa 50th anniversary

File includes Crossroads' 2007-2008 annual report, newsletters, a brochure, speeches from the founders and printouts from the Crossroads website. -- Note from Simpson reads: "national leader in the struggle against segregation and discrimination on the basis of race; peace activist and a leader in organizing opposition to the Vietnam War; among the most effective and memorable of all of American preachers; a great friend of Jim Robinson and Crossroads Africa; in 1960 as chaplain at Yale he served as a Crossroads workcamp leader, Guinea."

Odyssey ch. 2 : background information on Donald G. Simpson

File contains summary written by Simpson of his experiences with teaching and Africa from 1957 to 1962, evidently composed for an application of some kind. There is also a short outline of his present studies for his Master's degree and his future plans.

Odyssey ch. 2 : Akinsulure family

File contains letters from Akin Akinsulure, his wife Millie and their daughter Yinka; a resume of Akin, a notice of his death and the text of a eulogy.

Odyssey ch. 2 : 3-in-1 campaign

File contains records of the Board of Men, The United Church of Canada, and the 3-in-1 campaign of ASF, CUSO and Canadian Crossroads. The records include correspondence, speech cards, notes, "Bridge Builder" newsletters, conference brochures and booklets and two sets of meeting minutes of the 3-in-1 campaign committee.
