Fonds consists of the professional records of Peter Flemington including: correspondence, memorandums, reports, CRTC briefs and applications, meeting minutes, research files, film project files including copies of films and scripts, academic writing project files, and files related to his work as Head of Programming and Development of VisionTV. The records in this fonds document his role in the evolution of religious communication and the development of religious broadcasting in Canada, notably the establishment of VisionTV in 1986.

Peter Flemington Broadcast Services

Series consists of records created and accumulated by Peter Flemington in his capacity as a student at the Annenberg School of Communications and as a consultant and freelance filmmaker, producer, director and broadcasting executive. Includes: coursework; workshop materials; consultancy project files; correspondence, research notes, and reports related to an application for a license at the first CRTC hearings on Pay-TV; and three DVD’s featuring highlights of his career.

Also included in this series are files related to his work with Doug Barrett on an independent brief to the CRTC suggesting a model for a multifaith television service which the CRTC could license. This brief formed the foundation for the work subsequently undertaken by the Rosewell Group and the Canadian Interfaith Network.

File consists of three reports on the topic of Pay-Television: "Future Mass Media" by Gordon B. Thompson for the Royal Commission on Violence in the Communications Industry (1976); "Developping an Effective Approach to Pay Television in Canada" by Canadian Cablesystems Ltd., Premier Cablevision Ltd. and Rogers Cable TV Ltd. (May 1975); and "Pay Television in Canada: The CBC's View" by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (Oct. 1976).

File consists of: an audio tape recording labelled "Christian Frontiers: Anglican-United Conversation on Unity," 1966; working scripts of the CBC radio documentaries, "Grant Us Safe Lodging," and "The Report on 17th Annual Conference on Evangelism" on CBC Radio, 2 September 1964; correspondence; and a contract to licence and broadcast the documentary "Power to the Powerless" on the CBC program, "Christian Frontiers," 1967.
