The collection consists of materials related to Joyce Wieland acquired from various sources. Records include a small amount of correspondence; obituary notices and program for the Wieland funeral; press clippings and articles on the work of Joyce Wieland; photographs of Wieland, her friends and family; personal ephemera relating to Wieland; photographs taken at a drawing workshop led by Wieland in St. Michael's, Newfoundland; records and scripts pertaining to Wieland's film "The Far Shore" as well as notes by Wieland about the film; photographs used in the Jane Lind biography of Wieland; small works of art done by Wieland such as sketches, drawings and paintings.

File consists of three photographs of Joyce Wieland taken at a drawing workshop held at St. Michael's Printshop in St. Michael's, Newfoundland, 27 July to 8 August 1980, and a handwritten note by Joan Malcolmsen describing the contents and providing the context of each of the photographs.

Accession consists of records mainly pertaining to Joyce Wieland's personal life and family. Records include photographs of Wieland, Michael Snow, Phyllis Lambert, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, friends and family; photographs of scenery and landscapes; correspondence; personal ephemera including identity cards and birth certificates; Wieland's astrological chart; a photo album created by Phyllis Lambert for Wieland's 60th birthday in 1990; a wall hanging entitled "Ode to Joyce" featuring circular embroidered pieces with symbols and expressions relevant to Wieland's life; newspaper clippings of articles by Wendy Michener; and a catalog for "In search of the far shore: the films of Joyce Wieland" (Canada House, Jan.-Feb. 1988).

Item is a photograph of Wieland sitting in a garden. The annotation on the verso of the photo reads: “Joyce as Empress Josephine (1987). Joyce’s friend’s son making a film (Munro, son of Betty Ferguson).”

File consists of photographs of Joyce Wieland, Art Eggleton, Susan (Crean?) and others at a ceremony awarding Wieland with a Toronto Arts Council award. They are posing with framed photographs of Wieland at her 1987 Art Gallery of Ontario retrospective. Photographs are accompanied by a letter from Toronto Arts Council executive director Rita Davies.
