Graduate school papers

File consists of papers written by Scheier for her MA degree in English at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Included in the file is also an undergraduate paper.

Greeting cards

File consists of an assortment of greeting cards sent to Scheier, mostly by family members, and some sent to her son, Jacob, on his graduation from elementary school. Included is a photograph depicting Scheier with Stan Dragland in Dec. 1994, a photograph of Scheier's niece, Dara, in 1988, and a 1994 graduation photograph of Jacob.

Grenada and misc. Caribbean/Central America

File consists of research material pertaining to labour and socialist politics in Grenada and Jamaica, collected by Scheier, including issues of "Forward: Newspaper of the Revolutionary Marxist League, Jamaica", "West Indian Digest", "Socialist Affairs", "International Internal Information Bulletin", as well as the constitution of the Canada-Grenada Friendship Society and a document entitled "An Introduction to the People's Revolutionary Government of Grenada".

Histadrut documents

File pertains to Scheier's research about the Histadrut and includes her handwritten notes and copies of related encyclopedia entries.

Israel trip

File consists of publications written in Hebrew, as well as a pamphlet in English entitled "Peace now: better a land of peace than a piece of land" and handwritten notes by Scheier.

Joseph Schwartz, aka "Yossi"

File pertains to Joseph "Yossi" Schwartz, Scheier's ex-husband, and includes birthday cards, poetry, a horoscope chart, and four photographs taken by Schwartz.

File consists of assorted pins collected by Scheier pertaining to socialism, labour rights, feminism and other political issues. Included are pins pertaining to the Black Panthers, the Spartacus League, the 1963 march on Washington for jobs and freedom, Angela Davis, the Vietnam War, abortion rights, and peace marches. Also included are Workers Vanguard and peace march stickers.

File consists of samples of Scheier's published non-fiction and business writing and publications for which she worked as an editor.

File consists of political posters accumulated by Scheier, including a Spartacist League Richard Nixon impeachment poster, a Spartacist League poster advertising a talk by James Robertson, a Nicaragua Solidarity Committee poster (July 1979), two posters pertaining to the Cruzada Nacional de Alfabetizacion [Nicaraguan Ministry of Education], a handmade "Bread, land, peace" poster inscribed to Scheier, a Spartacist Youth League black liberation poster, and a University of Winnipeg Students' Association "Quebec: the people and their aspirations: Exposure '79" conference poster.

File consists of issues of this Canadian Abortion Rights Action League (CARAL) publication from spring 1985 to fall/winter 1987-88.

"Pro-Choice News" : graphic material

File consists of photocopies or clippings of pro-choice cartoons and illustrations, a birth control poster for men produced by the London Family Planning Association, and photographs of Morris Manning and Lasha Morningstar, accumulated by Scheier for possible use in "Pro-Choice News".

Prose fiction "dead" file

File consists of three draft short stories by Scheier and a story written by her husband, Yossi Schwartz.

File consists of three children's books created by Scheier's brother Michael and sister-in-law Julie Frankel for Scholastic Book Services: "Me by Me: My Own Book" , "My Autograph Book", "The Wacky, Fractured Teenage Survival Book".

Reflection

File consists of four issues of "Reflection", the annual literary journal of Roosevelt High School in Yonkers, New York. She was a literary editor for the 1963 issue and a poetry contributor for the 1962, 1963 and 1964 issues.
