Pride magazine

File consists of issues of Pride magazine, a North American magazine catering towards Canada’s Black/West Indian communities.

Caribana '95-J'ouvert

File consists of correspondence, hand-drawn maps, media coverage, schedules, and other documents planning Caribana's first Jouvert in 1995 and for subsequent years in 1996 and 1997.

Caribana/Callaloo '97

File consists of documents pertaining to Caribana '97 and the organization of the 1997 Callaloo Mas Camp, including: schedule of events, correspondence, press releases, a summary of events by Shah, notes and memos from organizers, lists of participants, and designs for costumes.

Moving image recordings

Series consists of videocassettes and film reels documenting Caribana throughout the years. Film reels also document Shah’s life and subsequent immigration from Trinidad and Tobago to Canada.

[Jump Up! Caribana 1997] Caribana ‘97

A video cassette of recorded footage of a features of City TV broadcasting “Jump Up! Caribana 1997.” It includes an interview with Kenneth Shah about the beginnings of Caribana, including the first Caribana in 1967, and looking in depth on the costume creation for his 1997 band, “Callaloo.”
