File consists of photographs of Barry Callaghan’s visit to Italy, including lunch in Venice with two students who were translating "The Black Queen Stories" as part of the Seminario di traduzione organized by the Dipartimento di Studi Anglo-Americani e Ibero-Americani in collaboration with the Associazione Italiana di Studi Canadesi, visiting the canals of Venice with Branko Gorjup, visiting the apartment of Leon and Constance Rooke, evenings with Professor Momoli Zorzi and Professor Perosa (an admirer of "Barrelhouse Kings"), Callaghan’s classroom in Venice, an evening at the house of Professor Armando Pajalich, a visit to Alfredo Rizzardi and his wife in Bologna, supper at Sergie, Callaghan’s favourite restaurant in Italy, a return to Venice, where he did readings with Leon Rooke. File also includes photographs of Callaghan’s attendance at the St. Michael’s College School’s Athletic Awards Night in Toronto, 30 May 1997 to celebrate athletes of the year for past fifty years, and of Little Brown Canada’s book launch party for Barry Callaghan, Richard Ford, Katherine Govier, and others held at Montana’s restaurant on John Street, 22 June 1997.
