Series consists of the administrative records created and accumulated by Jean Augustine in the course of her activities as a community advocate, activist and volunteer; in her role as an administrator and chair of various local, municipal, provincial, federal and international organizations, associations, boards, committees and conferences; as a federal politician representing the constituency of Etobicoke-Lakeshore in Ontario; and in her role as Ontario's Fairness Commissioner. Series is organized into several functional categories used by Augustine herself, including Community Action files ; Parliamentarian files ; Correspondence and subject files ; Trips and conferences; Canadian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development; Canada Africa Parliamentary Group; Special Advisor for Grenada; Secretary of State (Multiculturalism); Women's Issues; Schedules from the daily operations of the Office of the Fairness Commissioner; and Status of Women Canada. File consists of publications from the Office of the Fairness Commissioner, including the 2014 Annual Report and information sheets regarding the challenges that internationally educated professionals face, as well as other publications from researchers regarding human resources, equity, and skills development.

File consists of documents pertaining to the Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women's Empowerment, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, the Women Moving Forward program at the Jane/Finch Community Centre, the Universal Peace Federation World Summit 2014, the Black Business & Professional Association, as well as promotional flyers for cultural events that Augustine attended or spoke at.

CLEAR 2008 Annual Conference

File consists of documents, programs, agendas, correspondence and presentation slides for the conference held in Anchorage, Alaska during which Augustine participated as the keynote speaker.

Sickle Cell Awareness

File consists of material pertaining to Augustine's involvement in raising awareness of sickle cell disease, including a speech Augustine gave at the 4th Annual World Sickle Cell Day Conference, publications by the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario, correspondence with event organizers, and a press release introducing the Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Care Ontario Act.

Black Leadership Health Initiative

File consists of material pertaining to the Black Leadership Health Summit at which Augustine presented the keynote speech focused on the necessity of the Ontario Black Health Network.
