Wartime newspapers

File consists of newspaper issues and clippings of the Louise Burns dancers at Maple Leaf Gardens (The Star, 11 October 1941, p.11 and the Toronto Daily Star, 29 August 1941, p.3), an issue of the Kol Korea (series IV, number XI, 23 May 1947), the 'Pardon Me' revue at the Trocodero (Desert Airman, 22 Nov. 1945), an issue of the AGVA news (Aug. 1950), an issue of the Korea Graph XXIV corps (18 May 1947), an issue of the Far East Stars Stripes weekly review (8 June 1947), and the Pacific Stars and Stripes (vol. 3, number 118, 28 April 1947).

Correspondence

File consists of letters and newspaper clippings pertaining to Sam Lipshitz's trip to Europe, as well as a flyer inviting people to a rally held by the Council of Progressive Jewish Organizations, March 1950, entitled "The truth about Jewish life and Jewish culture in eastern Europe! What is behind the slanderous campaign against the Soviet Union?" (speakers include J. Gershman, editor of "Vochenblatt," Sam Lipshitz, and Dorise Nielsen, a delegate to the International Women's Congress in Moscow).

Japanese Newspaper: “Sunny to America: Two International Students Selected”

File includes a Japanese newspaper article featuring a teenaged Toyomasa Fusé and one other Japanese student as they are congratulated by General Douglas MacArthur as two of four selected winners of the Garisa (?) Scholarships to study in the United States. Fusé is quoted as saying that he will be attending a university in Missouri. Lois Fusé’s note on the context of the picture is written on the exterior of the original file folder.

Correspondence from the late modern period

Series consists of individual letters written during the late modern period, which begins in the middle of the eighteenth century. This material was acquired from donors or antiquarian booksellers to support research and teaching by faculty and students at York University.

Roberts, A.K. attorneys : re: trustee agreement

File consists of maps of Thompson-Lundmark Mines, near Thompson Lake, Northwest Territories, and correspondence with Hoffman's attorneys regarding an Attorneys agreement between co-owners of mineral claims, including Arnold Hoffman and Frederick W. Thompson, 1946. The correspondence reveals the distribution of shares among co-owners of Gold Operators (Canada) Ltd. and details about its financial assets. File also includes a notebook created by Arnold Hoffman which consists of notes and sketches taken during his staking of the Irwin Hoffman claim in Rouyn, Quebec in 1929.

Orchestral scores
