Series consists of articles clipped from newspapers and magazines from across Canada, and either pasted onto loose leaf pages and kept in binders, or placed in file folders in approximate chronological order. The articles are often accompanied by letters, memoranda, and reports from CBC officials on related issues, as well as Knowlton Nash's research notes. While much of the material deals with Nash's career and information services at the CBC, many also deal with broader themes of broadcast journalism. The First International Sugar Workers Conference was held in Trinidad in 1977. The Second International Sugar Workers Conference was originally scheduled to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in November 1982, but had to be postponed due to complications with travel visas for delegates. It was rescheduled for February 1983 in Toronto, Canada. The second conference established the ICCSASW. The Third International Sugar Workers Conference was held in Santo Domingo in 1987. It was the largest event organized by ICCSASW, with delegates from five continents. The last in the series of four conferences was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1993.

Series consists of records related to Peter Flemington’s work with the Rosewell Group, an independent collaboration amongst four friends (Peter Flemington, Doug Barrett, Des McCalmont, and the Hon. David MacDonald) who responded to the 1983 CRTC Call for Applications for a religious multifaith television service. Initially, their work centered on exploring the options and possible initiatives for Interchurch Communications. The Rosewell Group’s work leads to the creation of the Canadian Interfaith Network (CIN) in 1984, with the Rosewell Group continuing as the research arm of CIN to assist and guide it through the application process with the CRTC. This would lead to the creation of VisionTV in the fall of 1986.

The records in this series document the extensive preparation and research undertaken before the successful transition towards VisionTV.

Series primarily consists of George Papadatos’ professional records pertaining to his various activities as an engaged member of the Toronto Greek-Canadian cultural and political community, including materials relating to his involvement with organizations such as the Greek-Canadian Cultural Association, the Greek-Canadian Cultural Workshop of Toronto, the Greek Community of Metropolitan Toronto, the Greek-Canadian Democratic Organization and the Hellenic Canadian Organization, amongst others. Series also includes records relating to Papadatos teaching career at Scarborough College (University of Toronto), employment assisting new Greek immigrants at Eastminster Community Services and activities performed as a music promoter and as owner of the Trojan Horse café. Series includes correspondence, legal and business documents, reports, meeting minutes and agenda, news clippings, scrapbooks, writing and research materials such as journal articles, papers, newsletters, proposals, government and education-related documents, pamphlets and brochures. While consisting predominantly of collected ephemera, file 2014-044/001(04) also contains a number of professional records relating to political organizing.  Very few personal records are included, however the series does contain some records relating to Papadatos’ immigrant status and employment. Other items relating to personal events such as invitations to his birthday party and to a farewell event prior to his return to Greece in 1984 can be found in 2014-044/001(02) and 2014-044/001(06).

Series consists of records pertaining to Simpson's work in cross-cultural education from the 1970s to the early 1990s, predominantly at the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Education and the Centre for International Business Studies. The records include lecture notes, articles and readings, speeches, visual materials such as overhead transparencies, course syllabi, reports, teaching materials such as case studies and exercises, correspondence, clippings and student assignments. The subjects documented include teaching students of different cultures, First Nations thought systems and education, education in the developing world, and inter-cultural issues in international management. A number of subject files contain resources on ethnicity, I.Q., social class, compensatory education and language and their effect on learning and success. There are also a number of files inherited by Simpson, created by another professor at the UWO business school, Joseph J. DeStefano. Courses Simpson taught at the business school included "The culturally different child" and "Problems in cross-cultural management." He taught the latter course at UWO in the spring of 1989 and then in Germany at the Koblenz School of Business in the fall of 1989. The series also includes files from workshops Simpson ran in 1980 for CBC North managers following his report on "The use of radio and television for education purposes in the Canadian North -- what can be learned from the experiences of the Third World?"

These records pertain to Mandel’s academic and other career accomplishments, his teaching at Osgoode Hall Law School, his writing and the publication of his books, his political activism, as well as his personal life, including written tributes to his parents and his activities as a singer and performer of opera and Yiddish music.

Series consists of records pertaining to the monthly dinner meetings arranged for and attended by the membership of CIBPA Toronto, which include dinner and an address by a guest speaker on a predetermined topic. Guest speakers are predominantly politicians and business leaders with expert knowledge of a wide variety of business, social and political topics of relevance to the CIBPA membership. The records in this series document the planning process for these events, including the selection of guest speakers, the organization of the dinner and rental of the event locale, and the confirmation of member attendance and event fee payments. These records include programs and notices, invitations, guest lists, speaking notes, invoices, correspondence, financial statements, notes, timetables and seating plans.

Series consists of the working files belonging to Shah including materials from the Caribbean Cultural Committee, a non-profit organization in charge of planning and running Caribana each year from 1967-2006. Files include material created and accumulated by Shah in his role as mas producer and bandleader for Caribana, including: correspondence, band registration forms, schedules of events, and documents to organize the festival's various mas camps each year.

The first manuscript Aussies and Englishmen, a travel memoir, was submitted for publication in 1966. The second manuscript The English Canadian Nation, a historical reflection of the role of English-speakers in Canada from the age of the Vikings to the twentieth century was written and submitted around 1990. The third manuscript Watching the Neighbours Next Door based on extractions from his journals regarding American politics was submitted for publication in August of 1996.

Records in this series document the wide scope of Gilbert’s writing projects and pertain in particular to his published books, “How to Win an Argument”, “Coalescent Argumentation”, “Office Party” and “Yellow Angel”, as well as unpublished novels, screenplays and stories, his unpublished textbook “Discovering Logic”, and his academic writing in the area of argumentation theory and gender and transgender theory. These records include draft manuscripts, screenplays, articles and stories as well as related correspondence, notes and research materials, publishing contracts, royalty statements, copies of published articles, and articles about Gilbert’s work.

The files deal with Nash's work as a Washington correspondent during the 1960s, his work on Newsmagazine from 1978 to 1981, and news specials, such as the Tokyo economic summit in 1979, the evening of the Quebec referendum on sovereignty in 1980, the Ottawa summit, the launch of the first space shuttle, and the constitutional conference of 1981. The series also includes scripts for Nash's "final word" for the week at conclusion of Saturday's evening news broadcast, 1988 to 1992.

Project IMPACT was an action research project on the delivery of mass primary education, organized under INNOTECH, one of six regional centres operating under the umbrella of SEAMEO (Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization). The project was first tested in Indonesia and the Philippines and later tested in Jamaica, Liberia, Malaysia and Bangladesh. Records include correspondence, notes, workbooks (modules) used by students, progress reports, publications, planning documents and other records. Series also consists of records relating to Simpson's co-directorship of the Forum for International Activities (FIA), 1984-1987, a non-profit association of public and private organizations interested in advancing the Canadian capacity to respond to requests from other countries for human resource development support. Records include papers, correspondence and planning documents. The series also consists of conference materials, reports and correspondence relating to international health efforts, including meetings relating to creating a Canadian University Federation of International Health. Series also includes various general articles on international development issues, publications and brochures from other development organizations, and travel material and notes from trips.

Accession consists of records pertaining to the history and activities of St Mark's Coptic Orthodox Church in Toronto, including photographs documenting the role of Father Marcos A. Marcos and an article written by Father Marcos entitled "The Copts of Canada". Other records in this collection include event programs, pamphlets, booklets, photographs of special visits, and issues of church newsletters "Hosanna", "The Way", "The Word of Life", "The Building", and "Cathedral". Also included is a copy of a site plan of St. Mark's.

It contains a considerable amount of correspondence between Harron and Christie related to the staging of various productions including Earle Birney's "Turvey" and to Chrisite's portrayals of Sir John A. MacDonald as part of the Canadian Centennial Commission's celebration of the centenary.

RTA was founded as a production and consultation entity by the United, Anglican and Roman Catholic churches in 1964 and joined for a time – or on a per-project basis – by the Baptist, Presbyterian and Lutheran churches and other faith communities.

Series predominantly consists of photographs taken by Deborah Barndt that document the breadth and scope of her interdisciplinary work as an educator, activist, academic and artist. These photographs pertain specifically to her political activism, her research trips to Asia, Peru and Nicaragua, her involvement with community-based arts and popular education projects, her work as a professor in York University's Faculty of Environmental Studies, and her research in the area of food sovereignty and agriculture. Also included are textual materials that illustrate some of the ways her photographs were used in her work, including course kits, monographs and other publications, as well as related audio cassettes (with transcripts) of interviews with tomato workers and video recordings of special events.

Series consists of Axelrod's high school, undergraduate and graduate school essays, speeches, drafts of articles written for student newspapers and other materials that document his involvement with student organizations including the Council of the York Student Federation, the Ontario Federation of Students and the Ontario Union of Students, as well as his research interest in post-secondary education and the student union movement. These records include publications, papers, articles and news releases.

Series consists of records pertaining to David Charles's work as a set decorator, set designer, prop master and assistant director on commercial productions, in a freelance capacity and for Schulz Productions. These records include crew and personnel lists, production schedules, set drawings, prop and wardrobe notes, scripts, invoices, release forms, call sheets, storyboards, photographs, and prop illustrations.

Series consists of records created and accumulated by Peter Flemington in his capacity as a student at the Annenberg School of Communications and as a consultant and freelance filmmaker, producer, director and broadcasting executive. Includes: coursework; workshop materials; consultancy project files; correspondence, research notes, and reports related to an application for a license at the first CRTC hearings on Pay-TV; and three DVD’s featuring highlights of his career.

Also included in this series are files related to his work with Doug Barrett on an independent brief to the CRTC suggesting a model for a multifaith television service which the CRTC could license. This brief formed the foundation for the work subsequently undertaken by the Rosewell Group and the Canadian Interfaith Network.

Series consists of records created and accumulated by Flemington in his work with Berkeley Studio, the media production centre for the United Church of Canada. Includes: correspondence; meeting minutes; memorandums; workshop and training materials; research and production files for film projects including, “Covenant” about the 6th Assembly of the World Council of Churches, in Vancouver (1983) and “These Things We Share” (1981), a United Church of Canada national television special.

Series consists of files documenting Jeanne Randolph's writing in the area of art theory and criticism. Included in this series are notes, research materials, photographs and annotated draft manuscripts pertaining to articles published in journals and exhibition catalogues and her books "Psychoanalysis and synchronized swimming", "Symbolism and its discontents", "Why stoics box" and "Ethics of luxury". Samples of Randolph's early creative writing are also part of this series, as are notes and promotional materials pertaining to lectures and readings given by Randolph in the 1990s and 2000s as part of writing residency programs or in promotion of her books.

Series includes records from the formational years of ICCSASW, primarily materials gathered by ICCSASW's parent institution, GATT-Fly, an overseas development agency of the Canadian churches for global economic justice. Series includes research materials pertaining to the sugar industry, such as material about the Food Prices Review Board and the Tariff Board hearings, gathered by food industry analyst Brewster Kneen in his research for “The Economy of Sugar," published in June 1971 by CENSIT (Centre for the Study of Institution and Theology). These research materials were given to Reg McQuaid in 1973 and include correspondence, memoranda, minutes and news clippings.

The series consists of typescript copies of scripts for the CBC program "Take 30" for which Norquay was a writer, researcher and broadcaster.

Series consists of records and resources relating to various aspects of Don Simpson's work, including miscellaneous correspondence, speeches to various groups, overheads used at various presentations, photographs, theme files, various articles on human resource development, business and innovation, and other records. Series also includes several files organized by Simpson titled "Key leaders with whom Simpson has worked" which bring together material relating to particular individuals and organizations, including the Terra Nova Group, Richard M. Harley, International Management Development and Euro-Asia Centre, Elizabeth Rose, and the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund.

Series consists of Crosbie’s incoming personal and professional correspondence as well as copies of some of her outgoing correspondence. Correspondents include Al Purdy, Michael Holmes, Tony Burgess, Steven Heighton, Bruce McDonald, Jeffery Conway, David Trinidad, David McGimpsey, Michael Turner and others. Photographs included with correspondence are also part of this series.

Series consists of photographs pertaining to the activities and members of the CIBPA Toronto. These photographs predominantly document attendees at events such as dinner meetings, President's Balls and golf tournaments, as well as election meetings, career fairs and networking meetings. Photographs in this series also pertain to association social events including dragon boat races, tennis tournaments, tall ship cruises and Christmas parties. Depicted in these photographs are members of the association, its executive committee and board of directors, as well as prominent Canadian politicians and businesspeople.

Series consists of records accumulated and created by David Charles primarily pertaining to his professional work and interests in film and television production in Canada and his membership in organizations including the Academy of Canadian Cinema and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. These records include correspondence, catalogues, contact lists, minutes, proposals, research materials, forms and letterhead, directories, forms, business cards, programmes, newspaper and magazine articles, and a wall calendar.

Series consists of notes, notebooks, essays, bibliographies, reading lists and correspondence, created and/or used by Hutchman during his years as an undergraduate and graduate student. Included in this series are multiple drafts of his MA thesis and PhD dissertation, some of which feature the comments of advisors Richard Sommer and Henry Beissel (MA) and Hugh Hood (PhD). Also part of this series are materials pertaining to Hutchman’s work as a professor of English, including correspondence, lecture notes, mark books, and administrative materials concerning his employment and career at the Université de Moncton.

The series consists of Friedlander's yearbooks covering her years as a high school student at Vaughan Road Collegiate Institute.

Series consists of seven audio reels containing lectures titled 'Education: the unfulfilled promise' which were broadcast on CBC Radio, as well as eight other audio recordings associated with Wittenberg’s research.

There are also copies of bissett's published works including 'Pomes for yoshi,' 'Space travl,' 'Wuns I saw it raining frogs' and others, art work by bissett including sketch pads, paintings, loose sketches, drawings and doodles as well as material exhibited in galleries. The series also includes posters and flyers publicizing new bissett publications, bissett readings or art exhibitions. There are also several examples of publications that contain reviews of bissett's poetry and/or interviews with him as well as anthologies in which either his poetry or art was published. The series also contains financial records related to bissett's professional life and work including book contracts, grant applications and reports to the Canada Council and to the Ontario Arts Council.

Series consists of records created and accumulated by Silverman as a result of field research conducted in Ecuador in 1978, part of her first sabbatical project as a professor at York University, to investigate class formation and economic differentiation amongst banana producers in coastal Ecuador. These records document the early stages of a long-term research project and provide a broad overview of production in Ecuador’s banana export sector in the 1960s and 1970s. These records are primarily government documents and Silverman’s field notes, worksheets and coding forms. Included are Ministry of Agriculture statistics about banana producers, including their names, locations, hectarages and quantity of exports, as well as agricultural census materials from 1954, 1968 and 1976, a list of banana co-operatives in Ecuador, and correspondence and other documents pertaining to the Coop Paraiso banana co-operative.

Series consists of a series of files containing information that relates to Wiseman's interests, particularly around social causes such as animal rights, nuclear disarmament, race relations and the environment as well as notebooks, maps, postcards, airline tickets, memorabilia and other material related to Wiseman's travels to China.

These records include training manuals, booking calendars, show run-downs, production files, reports on broadcasting policy, press releases, producers' and directors' magazines, internal CBC memoranda and correspondence, program outlines, reports, promotional materials, scripts, photographs, and newspaper clippings about programs produced by Gerber. Also included in this series is a file of ephemera and photographs from Gerber's time at CHUM radio station in Toronto, where he worked before he joined the CBC.

Some letters written on behalf of the company are primarily letters of recommendation for dancers. Additional business correspondence is located in the organisation records series.

Series consists of moving image recordings accumulated by Gerber. These materials are primarily clips of major 20th century news events as well as CBC television programs on which Gerber worked as a producer. Also included is an audio cassette of a Marshall McLuhan interview.

There are a few files on Canadian Crossroads International and the African Students Foundation (ASF). As well, there is general material on Canada-Kenya activities, in particular the Canada-Kenya Forum for businessmen organized by Kanchar and CABAG. Other record sub-groups created by Simpson include "educating Canadians about African and international development," and "internationalizing the curriculum." The latter subset of records includes approximately 75 catalogue cards summarizing the films held by the Cross-cultural learning centre at the University of Western Ontario. "Trip envelopes" were packages that often included a mixture of records for projects of Kanchar, CABAG and Simpson's other consulting firm, Salasan. They contain letters, notes, and a set of photographs of pre-fabricated housing under construction in Kenya. Other types of records in the series include correspondence, memoranda, reports, clippings, articles, newsletters, studies, resumes, promotional and profile material on Kanchar, speeches, legal documents, meeting notes, surveys, financial statements, conference materials, seminars, and an oral history transcript of an interview with Simpson at UWO as an example of a model international business/cultural leader.

Files may also contain background information regarding the subject matter of a proposed program or its performers, including advertisements, articles, and reviews.

Includes files pertaining to: the publishing of various articles and book reviews, as well as his monograph, The New Model Army in England, Ireland and Scotland, 1645-1653 (Blackwell, 1992); the Toronto Research Group in Early Modern British History; and various research trips dating from the late 1970s to the 1990s. Series also includes records related to the publishing of a Festschrift in honour of British historian Austin Woolrych, with whom Gentles had a longstanding relationship. The volume, Soldiers, Writers and Statesmen in the English Revolution (Cambridge University Press, 1998), was co-edited by Gentles. Series also includes several files of correspondence related to Gentles’ history research activities, as well as one file of personal correspondence.
