The last demonstrarion outside the Ottawa Parliament by members of PAK. A policeman on the right oversees the group of protestors while his motorcicle is parked in the center. Item consists of a public speech on the culture and history of the Mohawk peoples in North America. The first speaker talks about the conflict between the Mohawk way of life and the North American way of life, pollution concerns around reservations in Ontario and Quebec, environmental concerns for the future. The second speaker talks about preserving the culture, traditions, and independence of the Mohawk Nation within the United States. The third speaker talks about living conditions and community relations in the Mohawk Nation and the importance of starting a dialogue between the Mohawk Nation and the United States.

Mariposa ‘75

Item consists of the 45 page Mariposa Folk Festival program for 1975, held on the Toronto Islands, Toronto, Ontario, from 20 -22 June 1975. The program was edited by Dick Flohil, designed by Hodges Freeman & Robinson, and advertisments managed by Gay Spiegel. Program includes a schedule of evening and day concerts and workshops and a list of performer biographies. Also includes several articles, including "Mariposa : An Introduction" by festival artistic director Estelle Klein, an article by Alanis Obomsawin about the Native's People's Participation in the festival an article about crafts at the festival by Skye Morisson and a short anonymous article about Mariposa in the Schools and a financial statement from the festival foundation.

Item consists of a Black-Canadian family’s home movie featuring a child brushing the teeth of a younger child. Footage also features children playing on a swing set in a park, a boy riding a bicycle and a girl riding a tricycle, and playing on a slide.

Donor(s) and project contributed description follows: "Daily life in Montreal, Quebec. This footage shows Heather trying to teach her younger sister Hazel how to brush her teeth. Heather describes this footage as "normal kids doing normal things." Heather recalls playing at the park across from her family home a lot and riding their bikes. She describes the home in this footage as her "first family home in Montreal," located on Couvrette Street in St. Laurent, which is a borough in Montreal, Quebec."

Item consists of a Barbadian- and Guyanese-Canadian family's home movie and includes footage featuring a Popeye cartoon, Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon, children playing, a birthday celebration, a crowd outside and a man speaking into a microphone, a parade with cars as floats, adults hanging out, a hall filled with adults eating and dancing, a picnic at a park, gatherings with Christmas decorations in the background, a family dog wearing a hat, and a family gardening.

Donor(s) and project contributed description follows: "Its 1974 or 1975 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Mike Nobrega, cousins, aunts, extended family and friends are seen in domestic settings. They are also pictured sharing a picnic in the summertime. Mike was born in Toronto, and moved to Nova Scotia when he was young. His father is from Guyana and mother is from Barbados. The community around where he grew up was very diverse, including people from the Ukraine, Poland, Carribean, Italy. Many came to work in steel and coal mines."

Consists of an audio recording of a live performance by the Jim Dorsey Unit, including Jim Dorsey on piano, Larry Dubin on drums, Al Mattes on bass and Orville Thompson on saxophone. The performance begins with Dorsey introducing the members of the Jim Dorsey Unit and dedicates the performance to his grandmother. Program includes a map of the site, a schedule of evening and day concerts and workshops and a list of performer biographies.
