    Scope and content

File consists of handwritten research notes and typed correspondence divided into four parts. The first part consists of notes drawn from the collections surrounding the Amirauté de Guyenne in the Archives Départementales de la Gironde. The second consists of research notes taken during a visit to La Rochelle, including a list of reference books to find in a local library collection, and a conference on French Protestants at sea. The third section consists of research notes drawn from 18th-century French documents in the Massachusetts State Archives on the French diaspora in North America, and research notes on documents in the English Family Papers and the Essex Institute Collection. The final section consists of research and review notes relating to Boshers’ contributions to the Dictionary of Canadian Biography, including entries on Joseph-Michel Cadet and François Bigot, among others.
