File consists of handwritten research notes, typed and printed documents organised into multiple sections. The first three sections consists of notes on 18th century shipping voyages to Québec organised by year between 1713 and 1760; handwritten notes on people associated with Louisbourg, primarily focussed on the 1750's; and notes and transcriptions from early to mid 18th century correspondence, with other research notes and a list of names compiled in collaboration with Pierre Coutant, whose handwriting shows up in the section alongside Bosher's. The fourth section consists of research notes drawn from the Bibliothèque Municipale de Rouen, fonds Dardel dating from the late 17th-18th century, and research notes from the Archives Départementales d'Eure in Evreux on mid-17th-century shipping. The fifth section consists of research notes on négotiants, armateurs en général and bankers of St. Malo, Rouen and other locations in France (e.g. Paris). The sixth section consists of research notes on various marine insurance companies, most notably the Chambre d'Assurance et grosse aventure or La Compagnie d'Assurance; La Compagnie d'Assurance générale maritimes et incendiaires; and La Compagnie d'Assurance. The seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth sections include research notes drawn from various Archives Départementales with a focus on naval records. The next few sections include notes drawn from various departemental archives, with a focus on documents relating to the French navy and colonial Canada, including edicts and regulations, and notes on the "Affaire Droneau". The next two sections contains notes on published sources, along with a list of 17th and 18th-century merchants in New France, and collaborative research conducted with Marc Perrichet. The next few sections consist of notes on a variety of sources and includes published works, geneaological research, research on commercial records relating to 18th-century France, sourced from various departemental archive collections. The last section includes notes on the Begon fonds at the University of Montréal, with photocopied documents from this collection and a pamphlet on the Baby collection.
