File consists of handwritten research notes in two parts. The first section is devoted to Atlantic trade between Rochefort and Canada, and Huguenot families involved with this trade during the first two decades of the eighteenth century. The second section of notes is drawn from research at the Archives de la Marine at Rochefort, and was likely created in collaboration with Jay Cassel. This section contains a range of notes on French naval forces between the 1670s and the 1780s, including lengthy transcriptions of correspondence from Charles-Claude de Ruis Embito.
