Fonds consists of three series: diaries recorded in bound journals kept by Mackenzie during his adolescence and adult life; manuscripts of three works of non-fiction; and photo albums and passports of his family,and his life and travels overseas. Mackenzie recorded extensively on local and international political and social events. In his youth, Mackenzie was preoccupied with fascist and socialist movements in Europe. In later life, he became concerned with the influence of American foreign policy and its impact on Canadian sovereignty. His diaries also reflect his interest in films and the theatre, with entries on the deaths of his favourite actors and actresses and frequent entries on the various films and plays he attended in Toronto and abroad. He also wrote about the tours and activities of various royal families, and chronicled his own travels throughout the world in detail, including his extended stays in Australia and England. Mackenzie kept meticulous notes on his employment history and living environment. He also recorded details of his writing activities and his efforts to publish and support himself through writing. Mackenzie kept entries on his social activities in the gay community of Toronto, his relationships with other men, and later in life, his reflections on gay marriage, same-sex legal rights, the AIDS crisis, and the rights of gay couples to adopt and raise children.

Fonds consists of Professor John Bosher's notes created during four decades of research in provincial, national, and international archives concerning the lives and activities of merchants, officials, bankers and ships' captains involved in the trade between France and Canada during the 17th and 18th centuries when Canada was a French colony. Also included are research notes developed from the records held in private collections of notarial minutes concerning property and the lives of people active in trade between France and Canada, and copies of secondary literature devoted to this topic.

Records found from 1999 onwards are of the more personal variety and include personal and family correspondence between Vinci and his wife, and Vinci and his parents and parents-in-law, and other relatives during the 1930s as they tried to escape Germany. There is some correspondence regarding Vinci's efforts to sponsor his sister-in-law and niece after the Second World War.

In addition to administrative records, the fonds also includes the submissions of local and international South Asian artists, dancers, film makers, poets, playwrights, photographers and other performers, including audio-visual, photographic and written material, as well as promotional packages and brochures. Fonds is arranged into 11 series.

Fonds consists of records created and maintained by Alexander Israel Wittenberg, pertaining to his career as a mathematician, university professor and researcher of mathematical education, mathematical philosophy and general educational policies. The fonds includes Wittenberg’s correspondence with leading scientists, mathematicians and education specialists from across Europe and North America, reflecting his involvement with research pertaining to these issues, as well as to various other initiatives, debates and policy discussions. Other series in the fonds contain records relating to the academic courses that Wittenberg developed and taught and his involvement with the governance of York University during his tenure as a faculty member and which attest to his vision regarding the University’s future pedagogical direction; records from his time as a student in Zurich; most of his scholarly output and public engagements since the late 1940s and until his death in 1965; and some sound recordings containing radio broadcasts made by Wittenberg. The fonds also contains several personal records of both Wittenberg and his close family members, as well as photographs and newspaper clippings.

Upon his death, Wittenberg left behind him several unfinished projects. Amongst these are two manuscripts, the first, titled “Education: the unfulfilled promise,” is based on a series of lectures that he broadcasted on CBC radio during March and April 1965. The second manuscript, “Number – a case study in knowledge,” is based on an interdisciplinary mathematical-philosophical course that Wittenberg delivered to first- and second-year students at York University. Also included in the collection are initial notes and drafts relating to two other projects that Wittenberg was planning: a biography of Albert Einstein whom he perceived as a symbol for the ability to successfully combine scientific excellence with strong and unbending moral values, and a university-level textbook on vector algebra.

The fonds consists of research materials and student data produced in the early days of Glendon College by Professor Dee G. Appley. Includes test scores, checklists, questionnaires, coding sheets, index cards, grading reports and other statistics related to the first group of students enrolled at Glendon.

Fonds consists of Boughton's research and project files pertaining to her book 'Margaret Laurence : a gift of grace ; a spiritual biography' published in 2006. Records include audio recordings of interviews, transcripts, archival research notes, a final draft, publisher correspondence, congratulatory notes, tour information, clippings, and reviews.

The fonds documents Terence William Barker’s activities as minister in the Jehovah Church. These records include material related to the Assemblies of the Jehovah's Witnesses (1961-1972); correspondence, reports and newspaper clippings concerning the issue of blood transfusions; the disassociation of Barker from the Witnesses; and records of his ministry with 'Watchtower' magazine. There is also material on the Process Church of the Final Judgement, which consists of correspondence between Barker and other members, records of the Toronto chapter steering committee, contact list of Ontario members and followers, copies of articles for publication in their journal, and a typewritten copy of an unpublished article by Barker, 'Is the Process Church of the Final Judgement Christian? A possible approach' [1971?]. Included in the fonds are speeches delivered while he was engaged in the Jehovah Witness program and talks on religious topics, copies of the 'Yearbook of the Jehovah's Witnesses,' (1945-1976); several editions of 'New World translation of the Holy Scriptures,' (1955-1970), several Witness tracts, incomplete runs of 'Awake,' (1949-1984) including bound volumes (1961-1972), 'Informant,' (1949-1954), 'Kingdom ministry,' (1957-1972), and 'The watchtower,' (1936-1984, incomplete run) and bound copies (1961-1972 - complete runs). In addition, there are reports of the Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses (1946-1969), as well as song books, pamphlets and related material. For the Process Church of the Final Judgement, there are copies of 'Foundation,' and pamphlets including 'The Processeans,' [newsletter] (1972-1974). Also included is a photocopied (corrected in hand) typewritten manuscript by Barker of 'The time of the end: on the trail of the Final Age: Victorian to Aquarian' (1971-1973) and a photocopied, typewritten manuscript of Barker's 'The king of the North and the king of the South: apocalypticism and international politics' (1972-1975), both of which were unpublished.

Fonds consists of records documenting Harvey Cashore's work as a journalist, writer and television producer throughout three decades of covering the Airbus story, including work on four books and several documentaries for CBC's "The Fifth Estate," all of which formed a personal storyline documented in his 2010 book, "The Truth shows up," about his experiences investigating Airbus, Karlheinz Schreiber and Brian Mulroney. These records are primarily research files, which include correspondence, newspaper and magazine articles, notes, transcripts, government documents, photographs and audio cassettes, as well as manuscripts for "The Truth shows up."

Fonds consists of the personal and professional records of broadcaster, television personality and talk show host Dini Petty, including broadcast and preservation tapes of episodes of "The Dini Petty Show" (1989-1999), audience member waiver contracts, binders listing episode information and promotional photographs of Dini Petty with various guests including local, Canadian and international celebrities, public figures, journalists, actors, musicians, artists, politicians and performers. Also includes Petty's personal family records, memoirs, documentation and photographs related to her training as a helicopter pilot, her work as a journalist and on-air personality at CITY TV, promotional photographs, news clippings and magazine articles, CVs, promotional material and production tapes for documentaries on incest, "Having a Baby" and other news casts and television documentaries. Also includes drafts, promotional materials, illustrations and other content related to Petty's children's book "The Queen, The Bear and the Bumblebee", script and production material related to Petty's one woman show, contracts and tapes of Petty's work on Pear's shampoo commercials, poetry, biographical information and legal documents related to lawsuits with Air France as well as plaques, awards and tributes.

The fonds consists of records created by Sydney Eisen in his capacity as a professor and university administrator in the Department of History and Humanities at York University as well as is research pertaining to Victorian Studies and Frederic Harrison, and involvement with the Victorian Studies Association of Ontario and the Centre for Research of Latin America and the Caribbean. Types of records include subject files, academic and professional correspondence, course outlines, lecture notes, research notes, committee minutes, and student references.

(Michael) Creal and Harold I. Schiff regarding their roles on the Search Committee for a President of York University in 1969-1970; correspondence between Coombs and Prof. George Tatham, Master of McLaughlin College; and letters, photographs, ephemera, and a vaudeville script entitled "Inbad the Sailor" performed by Arthur Huston, Coombs's step-grandfather.

Fonds consists of records that document the relationships of the York Region Alliance to End Homelessness with community service agencies in York Region, its approach to securing funding and the partnerships developed through research projects, and its role in education and advocacy campaigns for people experiencing homelessness. The records include minutes from general meetings and sub-committees, and funded and unfunded grant application files. The fonds also consists of advocacy undertaken by YRAEH with other agencies and levels of government, membership lists, newspaper clippings and other media coverage, YRAEH publications including research studies, administrative records, educational projects and workshops, and publications related to human services in York Region and beyond. 

Fonds consists of records pertaining to the personal and professional life of Italian-Canadian artist Luigi Nasato. These records, dating from 1931 to 2015, document Nasato’s early life and education in Istrana, Italy, as well as his emigration to first Argentina and then Toronto, Ontario. The records primarily pertain to Nasato’s artistic output and include several hundred drawings, sketches, paintings, and preliminary studies created over the course of his career, as well as a number of awards granted to Nasato on the basis of his artistic contributions. Many of the artistic works included in the fonds relate to projects completed in Toronto and environs, particularly to mosaic projects created by Nasato at a number of churches in the region. Fonds also includes notes on art history and artistic technique created by Nasato as both a student and professional artist, as well as miscellaneous textual and financial records pertaining to the practicalities of his artistic career. Also included in the fonds is an extensive collection of photographs and clippings, compiled by Nasato over the course of his life, most of which document works of art created by Nasato and others.

Fonds consists of records created during Harry Boyle's career as a broadcaster, including: sound recordings of programmes, interviews, and speeches; transcripts of speeches (1968-1973) delivered while working for the CBC and the CRTC; personal and administrative files while chairman of the CRTC and during his tenure at the Banff School of Fine Arts. There are files related to the writing and publishing his books, and articles and stories published during his years as a journalist with the Toronto Telegram. Also included are items from Boyle's library about communications, broadcasting, and advertising. The records accessioned following his death in 2005 also include: files regarding Boyle's involvement with the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour and the Leacock memorial dinner; articles by or about Boyle; scripts for the CBC's Farm Department and articles on Canadian agriculture; manuscripts for "Memories of a Catholic boyhood" and "Dreams stronger than death; correspondence and subject files for the Boyle family, his career as a writer and broadcaster, the work of leading Canadian personalities; honours and awards; research and writing on a wide variety of topics; and internal memoranda from the CBC.
