Series consists of records pertaining to Rita Greer Allen's career as a freelance researcher, screenwriter, producer and broadcaster for Canadian radio and television between the 1940s and the 1970s. The records in this series include scripts written by Rita, research materials, notes, newspaper clippings, interview transcripts, correspondence, photographs and production materials used in the creation of and pertaining to programs for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) radio and television and for the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). Also included in this series are manuscripts for Greer Allen's chapter written for the Marion Woodman book "Leaving my father's house: a journey to conscious femininity"(1993). Programs documented in this series include "As children see us", a CBC radio program; "Barometer rising", a CBC radio adaptation of Hugh MacLennan's novel that was later written as a television script; educational radio plays for in-school listening, created for the Departments of Education of the Provinces of British Columbia and Ontario in co-operation with the CBC and for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC); CBC television programs "CBC Thursday night", "Of all people", and "Take 30"; original television drama "The raku fire" (1976); as well as many one-off drama adaptation or documentary projects for radio and television. Many radio scripts written in the 1940s were co-authored with Rita's husband, Robert Greer Allen, and correspondence and writing by Robert appear in some files in this series.

It also contains published copies of plays annotated by Christie that demonstrate stage directions and other comments related to his portrayal of his characters in these plays.

Series consists of Endicott's research files pertaining to his Series 4: United States Biological Warfare. Records include textual material including photocopies of previously classified documents, correspondence, and photographs relating to United States biological warfare activities during the Korean war period 1950-1953. These materials collected over a twenty-five year period, beginning in 1976, are the product of research in the national archives and several military archives of the United States, Canada, the Peoples’ Republic of China, and interviews in the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea, Japan and Britain. Based upon this research Endicott and his colleague Edward Hagerman, also of York University, collaborated to produce the book The United States Biological Warfare: Secrets from the Early Cold War and Korea (Indiana University Press, 1998) in which they conclude that the United States secretly engaged in large-scale field tests of biological weapons in Korea and China, committing an international war crime. The book has been translated into Korean in South Korea. At the time these records were donated, Endicott maintained that American authorities continue to deny biological warfare activities during the Korean War, and he believed the topic to be the most closely guarded Cold War secret of the United States government.

The series consists of correspondence, notes, clippings and other material which documents the career of Friedlander's father Curt Borchardt, himself a theatre critic.

The series consists of personal and professional correspondence, research material, interview transcripts, newspaper clippings, drafts of speeches and lectures given by Friedlander, copies of resumes, material related to the Sears Ontario Drama Festival and other material which documents Friedlander's career as a theatre critic and writer and which illustrates her involvement in the arts community in Ontario.

Series consists of bound copies of Simpson's Masters and Ph.D. theses and other records collected during his years at school. His 1964 M.A. thesis was called "British radicals and the New Imperialism 1880-1886." His Ph.D. grew from his research for the Black community in Buxton, Ontario, which was working to build the country's first museum of Black Canadian history. Simpson completed this thesis in 1971 under the title "Negroes in Ontario from early times to 1870." The records in the series include yearbooks from Mimico High School, 1948-1952; souvenir football programmes and magazines, most of them for games between the Varsity Blues of the University of Toronto and the Western (UWO) Mustangs, for which Don was a fullback and a guard; a UWO student handbook; research proposals; clippings; American graduate school information and applications; and programmes and photographs of the Kappa Alpha Society, a fraternity to which Simpson belonged as an undergraduate.

Series consists of a variety of records pertaining to Scheier's childhood, her family, her education, her personal life, and her career. These records include newspaper clippings, correspondence and forms, resumes, photographs, diaries and notebooks, books written by family members, high school and university lecture notes and essays, and objects including baby shoes, Scheier's smoking pipe, and a collection of political pins.

Series consists of manuscripts, typescripts, and printed materials written by or about other writers. Much of the typescript material was given to Wiseman while she was an instructor at the Banff School of the Arts. It includes clean copies of work by Caroline Adderson, Carol Bolt, Marian Engel, Sylvia Fraser, Gary Geddes, Anne Michaels, Michael Redhill, Anne Carson and others. It also contains copies of articles or reviews written by or about other authors that were collected by Wiseman.

Series contains essays from his Oxford undergraduate days as well as notes and essays from Northwestern University (Master's degree), and typescript copies of his doctoral thesis at the University of Illinois, 1953.

Series consists of records pertaining to a CIBPA Toronto history project about the origins of the association and other Italian-Canadian organizations in Toronto. The records in this series document interviews conducted with prominent members and associates of the CIPBA Toronto about the formation of the association, its relationship to other organizations, and the role of particular individuals in its development. These records include interview transcripts (in Italian and in English), draft essays regarding a number of Italian-Canadian organizations or clubs, notes and reports.

Series consists of scripts, cue sheets and correspondence, in some cases, for film, stage and radio productions for which Applebaum was to compose the music. These include 'Ballade' a musical play by Arthur Samuels (1968), 'The fool killer,' (c. 1961), 'Three sisters,' (Stratford production, 1976), and others. Also includes scripts of poems.

Series consists of Endicott’s research files pertaining to his books Red Earth: Revolution in a Sichuan Village (1988), and The Red Dragon: China 1949-1990 (1990). These files include interview transcripts, annotated photocopies of archival records, village account books (in Chinese with English translation), and interviews at the village, brigade, commune, and county levels; articles, clippings, chronologies, personality files, graphic material, pamphlets, project outlines, manuscript drafts, correspondence, conference papers, etc.

Series consists of records pertaining to the membership of the CIBPA Toronto from its beginnings in the 1950s to the 2000s. The records in this series include non-active member files, letters sent to members, membership lists and directories, membership fee invoices, surveys and questionnaires, and membership certificates. These records document the growth of the organization, the nature of its membership, membership fee payments and the CIBPA Toronto's membership recruitment efforts.

Series consists of day planners maintained by Rita Greer Allen and documenting her appointments, telephone numbers, and other personal information. Also included in the series are expense books kept by Rita pertaining to her management of household and professional expenses.

Series consists of project and writing files that are not specifically Open College files, or other named projects. These files are primarily related to Norquay's interests in adult education, cross-cultural interaction and communication, communication styles, diversity training and management styles, and include workshop notes and course handouts, correspondence, guides, exercises and quizzes, assessment tools, reference materials, readings, and reports either written by or accumulated by Norquay.

It also includes the manuscript for Tomas Transtomer's "For the living and the dead," which Coles translated from Swedish as well as correspondence between Coles and Tomas and Monica Transtromer regarding this work.

Series consists of the professional correspondence created and received by Knowlton Nash during his career as a journalist, and his involvement with several educational and philanthropic organizations. Topics include: contractual arrangements for work as a freelance journalist; Nash's relationship with the Financial post from 1959 to 1968; story ideas on American affairs submitted to Maclean's; readers' reactions to his newspaper columns; Nash's contractual relationship with the CBC as its Washington correspondent; view reaction to his coverage of fighting in the Dominican Republic in 1965; requests from many organizations for Nash to assist in fundraising, usually by donating a tie that can be auctioned, or to attend charitable events; election coverage in Canada, particularly in response to accusation of partisanship on the part of Nash and the CBC; attitudes toward public and private broadcasters; reaction of viewers to a wide range of issues and news stories, such as nuclear disarmament, abortion, and the Meech Lake Accord; Nash's involvement with the University of Regina's School of Journalism and Communications, and the Canadian Organization for Development through Education (CODE); viewers' reactions to episodes of Witness hosted by Nash during the early 1990s, particularly Brain sex and Whale wars; honorary degrees from the University of Toronto and Brock University; public reaction to CBC news coverage in light of budget cuts in 1990; events in South Africa, 1990; editorial perspectives expressed by on-air journalists when covering international events, and the impact of interviewing styles; other CBC personalities, particularly Barbara Frum and Peter Mansbridge; viewers' ideas for game shows and news stories (often involving government conspiracies); Nash's work as a Director of the Gordon Sinclair Foundation; the Americanization of vocabulary and pronunciation; the challenge of reporting stories involving science and technology; requests for Nash's views and expertise on broadcasting issues, such televising appeals in the Supreme Court of Canada, 1997; and the publics reaction to Nash's books. Much of this correspondence pertains to the publics concern regarding editorial positions taken by the CBC in its coverage of national and international issues. Nash replied to many of these letters, and the copies of his outgoing correspondence usually indicates his discussion of these concerns with colleagues at the CBC, and includes an explanation of the broadcaster's approach.

Files in this series consist of Callaghan's research notes, some of his student papers and resource materials used in preparation for his graduate school comprehensive examinations at the University of Toronto in the mid-1960s.

Series consists of records related to Campbell's work as a producer. Although similar in nature to those found in the Scripts series, records here pertain to the overall management of a production, including the creative, financial, technological and administrative components. Series includes handwritten notes, memos, resource requisition forms, budgets, background research into performers and production subjects, program proposals and schedules. Series also contains official brochures or programs of stage versions of a production, and advertising or promotional clippings printed for film versions. Some files also contain technical drawings for the stage and/ or set(s), photographs of performers or sets, sheet music, scene breakdowns, and crew and performer lists.

Series consists of correspondence and clippings concerning various theatres and theatre companies in Canada and in other countries (Abbey Theatre-Dublin, Royal Shakespeare Company), and with playwrights and authors (Samuel Beckett, Brendan Behan, Anthony Burgess, Ezra Pound). There is also correspondence. official records and some clippings relating to the James Joyce Society of Canada (including accounts, lists and financial material), and with organizers of James Joyce Symposia (York University, Trieste, Dublin, Paris). There is material relating to productions of Pollock's works ('Giacomo de Trieste', 'Night boat from Dublin', 'Ulysses in Nighttown'). There is also some correspondence and related material concerning Temple Sinai (Toronto) and Pollack's travels (Soviet Union, Italy, Japan, Cuba). In addition, there are theatre programs from several theatres in Canada (Hart House Theatre, O'Keefe Centre, Royal Alexandra Theatre, Stratford).

Series consists of records pertaining to Drache’s academic writing and research project work. These records include drafts and published copies of his writing for journals, books and other publications, research and subject files on political economics, free trade and globalization, project files for initiatives undertaken while director of the Robarts Centre for Canadian Studies, and files pertaining to his research about Harold Innis and his role in the organization of Innis centenary activities held in 1994. Also included in this series are correspondence, conference materials, notebooks, proposals and grant applications.

Series consists of records pertaining to the administration, activities and interests of the CIBPA in Toronto. These records document the CIBPA's involvement with fundraising and community engagement projects, with other Italian-Canadian organizations, and with Canadian politics. Also included in this series are records pertaining to the management of the CIBPA office and staff, the creation of the association's directory, membership initiatives, as well as research about potential dinner meeting guest speakers and other topics. The files in this series consist of correspondence, minutes, reports, newspaper clippings, press releases, surveys, forms, and financial statements.

Series contains documents generated from performances, including educational initiatives, performed primarily in Toronto and tours across Canada and the north-eastern United States. Also, includes work by other choreographers produced by the company. Series consists of programming targeting primary and secondary schools in the form of curricula, teaching materials, educational marketing kits, feedback forms. Majority of records refer to Noondance and Curriculum in Motion educational initiatives.

Documents include itineraries, newspaper clippings, correspondence, programs, press releases, grant applications, contracts, feedback/participant surveys, and lobby displays. Few choreographic notations appear in this series (those that appear are in the Benesh Movement Notation (BWN) style).

Series consists of home movies from a Japanese-Canadian family including footage of a boy in a cub scout uniform, a visit to a farm in Cooksville, Ontario, and games of catching mochi balls at community picnics in Toronto.

Records in this series primarily document Larry Grossman’s post-political career after leaving political office in September 1987. Includes: correspondence; draft chapters and research notes for an unpublished book manuscript written by Grossman detailing his work and experiences in the Ontario government of Premier Bill Davis, from 1975-1987; assorted writings primarily opinion pieces for newspapers and a magazine article about baseball for Financial Post Magazine; meeting minutes and reports related to his role on the Board of Directors of the Canada Post Corporation and the Advisory Board of CFMT-TV; clippings and subject files; notes for remarks and speech transcripts related to his consultancy work, the Grossman Group; political briefs, reports and campaign materials for the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party, Liberal Party and New Democratic Party for the 1990 and 1995 general elections.

Series also includes assorted promotional photographic portraits of Grossman and event photographs from his time in political office.

Series consists of Wittenberg’s research output – books, articles, conference papers, book reviews, in both published and draft forms - from 1951 to posthumously published materials. Materials are written in German, French and English and for the most part pertain to the need and the ways to treat mathematical education as a foundational element within any humanistic education system.

The series consists of personal and professional correspondence including manuscript and typescript copies of letters as well as e-mail received by Coles. It also includes many copies of letters or e-mails written by Coles himself. The series includes family correspondence as well as correspondence with writers such as Christopher Wiseman, Liliane Welch, Guy Vanderhaeghe, Al Purdy, P.K. Page, Steven Heighton, Ralph Gustafson, Adele Wiseman, John Metcalf, David O'Meara, Robyn Sarah, Jan Ruzesky, Betty Jane Wylie, Robert Fulford, Carol Shields, Philip Grover and Tomas Transtromer among others.

Series consists of records pertaining to a project started by Endicott, Edward Hagerman and John W. (Bill) Powell in 1978. Its purpose, among other things, was to interview surviving Western airmen from the Korean War era about their knowledge of bacteriological warfare, especially the US POWs (Prisoners of War) who had made depositions about their experience to their Chinese and North Korean captors. These records include a typescript and audio recordings of the autobiography of US Army doctor Major-General Crawford W. Sams, a copy of his classified report of a controversial, clandestine raid into North Korea, and an oral interview.

Series contains typescripts of Harris' thesis on Giovanni Gentile, as well as typescripts, corrected drafts, galleys and page proofs of 'Hegel's development' (vols. I and II), 'Between Kant and Hegel: texts in the development of post-Kantian idealism,' (a series of lectures translated and annotated by Harris and George di Giovanni), and for 'Origins and legacies'. There are also typescripts and drafts of translations of works by Hegel ('Difference between Fichte's and Schelling's system of Philosophy,', 'Faith and knowledge', 'Encyclopedia of logic,' ). In addition, there are photocopies of Harris' revision of 'Lectures on the philosophy of religion'. The fonds also includes typescripts and drafts of several articles by written by Harris on Hegel, Croce, Hume, and copies of typescripts and off-prints of reviews written by Harris.

Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence created and maintained by a variety of officers of the Toronto CIBPA, including association presidents (A.W. Santamaura, Manlio d'Ambrosio, Vito Giovannetti, Clement Nusca, Elio Rosati, Roy Orlando, E.G. Faludi, Remi di Carli, N.L Lorenzetti, Roldano Dalla Rosa), and general managers (Robert Dante Martella, Paul Uguccioni, Joyce Frustaglio). These records document a wide variety of topics, including letters of congratulations and thanks, invitations to dinner meetings and promotion of special events, communications with association membership, fundraising, and incoming requests for assistance. Series consists of minutes and reports related to the Executive Committee of the Fathers of Confederation Building Trust (1964-1965, 1971-1974) as well as correspondence with cast members, unions and crews, and a daily journal regarding Moore's work at the Confederation Centre that includes budget notes and related material, blueprints for the Confederation Centre theatre (1962), newspaper clippings and scrapbooks related to the PEI Centennial (1964), the Royal visit and Command Performance (1964). It also includes programmes and posters related to the Festival, material related to the Wayne & Shuster Comedy Team including correspondence, scripts, press releases, and scrapbooks of their visit in 1965. Finally, it contains material related to the performance of 'Anne of Green Gables' at the Charlottetown Festival including account information, box office statements, advertising material and other material related to its run at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto and scripts, prompt scripts, a holograph copy of the music score, newspaper clippings, programmes and photographs related to its performance in Charlottetown.

Series consists of files related to administrative aspects of Campbell's work as director-producer and employee of the CBC. Series contains correspondence from viewers about a show, memos, reports, and photographs from auditions and of sets. Series also contains memos and reports between Campbell and CBC administration, as well as resumes and curriculum vitae of performers and production workers.

Series consists of records pertaining to the finances and financial management of the CIBPA Toronto from 1952 to 1999, including its office expenses, bank accounts and mortgages, membership fees, employee salaries and charitable donations. The records in this series include correspondence and notes, as well as ledgers, invoices, audited and pre-audit financial statements, auditor reports, balance sheets, cash flow projections, account activity detail reports, monthly trial balances, reconciliation summaries, cheque register reports, general ledger journal reports, accounts receivable journals, sales journal reports, accounts payable journals, purchase journal reports, cash receipts reports and cash transaction journals.

Series consists of records pertaining to meetings of CIBPA Toronto's board of directors and its executive committee. These records, which include minutes, agendas, correspondence and notes, document topics addressed by these bodies, including planning for dinner meetings and special events, reports from association committees, membership applications and cancellations, office administration, financial management, and fundraising and outreach activities. Files in this series also include minutes of CIBPA general meetings and a board of directors' orientation manual.

Series consists primarily of contracts created throughout the duration of Galloway's career as a performing artist, booking agent and festival administrator. Series also includes some correspondence pertaining to contracts, as well as miscellaneous notes, tax records, and other material. Some overlap exists between this series and the Working Life series.
