Fonds consists of the records created and accumulated by Arnold Hoffman as a prospector and stockholder, relating to gold mining operations in Ontario, Quebec, and the Northwest Territories. Records relating to the gold mines at Wright-Rouyn, Arrowhead, and Thompson-Lundmark include: maps and sketches, photographs, geological studies, reports, and assay reports. Files also contain records pertaining to Stadacona Rouyn, Sunset Yellowknife, Junior Frood, Coniaurum, Algood, Pershon, Resenor, Michipicoten, Croydon Rouyn, and El Canada mines, including geological reports, and correspondence. Records related to Hoffman’s stocks and business operations as Secretary of Gold Operators (Canada) Ltd. include stockholder lists, securities lists, annual reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, cheques, and contracts.

Brownell Exploration Group

File consists of correspondence related to the Brownell Exploration Group, a syndicate which comprised of a group of claims in Joannes Township, Quebec. Primarily includes correspondence between Robert Hoffman and George F. Brownell, regarding exploration of Rouyn, Quebec and a zinc deposit near Kingston, Ontario, 1924-1926; correspondence between Brownell, Hoffman, and Olaf Boe, of Norway, regarding the Brownell Exploration group; memos of work done in the Joannes Township in 1924; and a hand-drawn sketch which illustrates the Wright-Hargreaves mine, near Kirkland Lake, Ontario, undated.

Wright-Rouyn : Fenell, Porter, McLean, and Davis

File consists of correspondence between Arnold Hoffman and Fennell, Porter, McLean, & Davis, a law firm representing Gold Operators (Canada) Ltd. The subjects of the correspondence are taxes and stock transfers related to Wright Rouyn Gold Mines Limited. File also includes the minutes from two Wright Rouyn Gold Limited directors meetings, 22 February 1946 and 19 November, 1945.

Dover County School photographs

File consists of mounted group portraits of sporting and military groups of which Trist was a member during his time at the Dover School for Boys, England.

Lasserre photographs

File consists of photographic prints of Madeleine Boss Lasserre, likely taken circa 1950. Also includes one photographic print of the Flonzaley String Quartet, signed by Adolfo Betti, Alfred Pochon, Félicien d'Archambeau, and Nicolas Moldavan. This latter print would likely have been taken after d'Archambeau joined the quartet in 1924 and before it disbanded in 1928.

Venues include the Margaret Eaton School, Royal Conservatory of Music, Womens Art Association of Canada, Hamilton Conservatory of Music, St. Christopher House, The School at 217 St. Leonards Avenue, and Bishop Strachan School.

Virginia Rock fonds

Fonds consists of material related to Virginia Rock's research for her doctoral dissertation and other academic writing pertaining to the Twelve Southern Agrarians. Records include research notes and index cards, photocopies of newspaper clippings, book reviews, literary criticism, journal articles, and photocopies of material written by or about the Southern Agrarians regarding their lives and work, as well as their correspondence with Rock. The fonds also contains Rock's personal and professional correspondence, drafts of Rock's final dissertation and articles, records concerning her involvement with the Canadian Women's Studies Association, as well as materials pertaining to Rock's work as a professor at York University, including information about Stong College, syllabi, course kits and reading lists, information about symposiums she attended, and items relating to her work as an instructor and advisor for the Graduate Women's Studies Programme. Also included in the fonds are records pertaining to Rock's experience teaching American literature as a Fulbright visiting professor at Jagiellonian University in Krakow between 1962 and 1964. These records, which include photographs, correspondence and memorabilia, document Rock's activities while in Poland as well as her return visits to Poland in later years and her general interest in the country. An issue of the Polish magazine "Ameryka," featuring an article about Virginia Rock, has been added to Special Collections; an English translation is available in the fonds.

The series consists of Ernesto Vinci's general professional correspondence with the editors of publications, broadcasters, publishers, festivals, governments and schools, and associations. There are also birthday and greeting cards to Vinci. Later accessions include some personal correspondence between Vinci and his wife, and friends.

Diplomatic relations : George Washington Stephens, president, Saar Governing Commission, 1926-1927

File consists a leather-bound album containing business and holiday greeting cards received by Stephens from diplomats and politicians involved with the Saar Governing Commission, as well as correspondence that includes letters from Sir Robert Borden, Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, and Austen Chamberlain.

Early settlers

File consists of news printed news articles and blog posts related to early settler communities in the what became the Downsview community of Toronto. It includes articles on Downs View, the home of John Perkins Bull, which was the namesake of the Downsview area. Information on other historical landmarks such as the George Jackson House, Elia Church, Elia Post Office, Downsview United Church, Rowntree Farm (later the Oakdale Golf and Country Club), Downsview Airforce Base, Beth Am Synagogue, Boakes Grove and Downsview Park are also included in this research file.
