Fonds consists of records created and maintained by Rita Greer Allen pertaining to her career as a freelance writer, researcher and broadcaster for radio and television, her work as an artist and sculptor, and her interest in and research about Jungian psychology. These records document Greer Allen's writing of dramatic and documentary scripts for radio and television in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, particularly her adaptations of short stories, novels and plays. Radio scripts written in the 1940s in collaboration with her husband, Robert Greer Allen, are also part of this fonds, as are scripts, audio recordings, interview transcripts and research materials pertaining to Greer Allen's writing, production and on-screen presenting work in the 1960s and 1970s for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) television program "Take 30". Correspondence and contracts pertaining to her work are included in the fonds and illustrate the long-term freelance nature of Greer Allen's radio and television writing for the CBC, the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and others. The fonds documents Greer Allen's lifelong interest in art, particularly her work in the 1970s and 1980s as an artist and sculptor of raku pottery. Personal records, correspondence, research files and records pertaining to Greer Allen's travels are also included. Records in this fonds are correspondence, scripts, transcripts, notes and notebooks, photographs, audio recordings, day planners, artwork, research materials, newspaper clippings, posters, and personal memorabilia.

Series 7: Learning and teaching

Series consists of records pertaining to Endicott's personal education and as an educator. First home-schooled by his mother, Mary Austin, during his childhood in rural China, Endicott continued his education at Vaughan Road Collegiate Institute, Toronto in the 1940s, followed by a summer Bible seminar at Camp Minesing in Algonquin Park, Ontario. From 1945-1949, Endicott earned his BA in the modern history honours program at the University of Toronto, studying under C.B. Macpherson, Northrup Frye, and Frank Underhill among others. In the 1960s, Endicott went on to pursue a teaching degree at the Ontario College of Education while working as secondary school teacher with the South Peel Board of Education. He subsequently completed his MA (History) at the University of Toronto in 1966, and his PhD at the School of Oriental & African Studies at the University of London in 1973. Endicott taught in the history department of Atkinson College at York University for 22 years until his retirement, having spent two sabbaticals teaching in China at Sichuan University, in Chengdu.

Series consists of records pertaining to Jim Galloway's early life in Scotland, as well as personal records created throughout his life. Records include notes, sketches and other documents from Galloway's early childhood education and tenure at the Glasgow School of Art, personal notes and correspondence, travel records, date books, passports and immigration records, and other material. Series does not contain records pertaining to Galloway's early musical projects in Scotland, which can be found in the Working Life and Photographs series.

File consists of postcards of Huntsville, Ont., a program for "Juno and the paycock: a tragedy in three acts" presented by the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto, an undated dance card, and a book of Imperial Bank of Canada cheques.

Writing and project files

Series consists of publications, presentation scripts, notes and other writings authored or co-authored by Eric Trist, bibiliographies of Trist's and others' works, and audio recordings of Trist and of conversations between Trist and Howard Perlmutter. Many of the publications in this series were used as source material for the book Social Engagement of Social Science: A Tavistock Anthology, edited by Trist (Tavistock, 1990). In such cases, this has been noted at the file level.
