He also wrote about the tours and activities of various royal families, and chronicled his own travels throughout the world in detail, including his extended stays in Australia and England. Mackenzie kept meticulous notes on his employment history and living environment. He also recorded details of his writing activities and his efforts to publish and support himself through writing. Mackenzie kept entries on his social activities in the gay community of Toronto, his relationships with other men, and later in life, his reflections on gay marriage, same-sex legal rights, the AIDS crisis, and the rights of gay couples to adopt and raise children.

Fonds consists of records created and maintained by Alexander Israel Wittenberg, pertaining to his career as a mathematician, university professor and researcher of mathematical education, mathematical philosophy and general educational policies. The fonds includes Wittenberg’s correspondence with leading scientists, mathematicians and education specialists from across Europe and North America, reflecting his involvement with research pertaining to these issues, as well as to various other initiatives, debates and policy discussions. Other series in the fonds contain records relating to the academic courses that Wittenberg developed and taught and his involvement with the governance of York University during his tenure as a faculty member and which attest to his vision regarding the University’s future pedagogical direction; records from his time as a student in Zurich; most of his scholarly output and public engagements since the late 1940s and until his death in 1965; and some sound recordings containing radio broadcasts made by Wittenberg. The fonds also contains several personal records of both Wittenberg and his close family members, as well as photographs and newspaper clippings.

Upon his death, Wittenberg left behind him several unfinished projects. Amongst these are two manuscripts, the first, titled “Education: the unfulfilled promise,” is based on a series of lectures that he broadcasted on CBC radio during March and April 1965. The second manuscript, “Number – a case study in knowledge,” is based on an interdisciplinary mathematical-philosophical course that Wittenberg delivered to first- and second-year students at York University. Also included in the collection are initial notes and drafts relating to two other projects that Wittenberg was planning: a biography of Albert Einstein whom he perceived as a symbol for the ability to successfully combine scientific excellence with strong and unbending moral values, and a university-level textbook on vector algebra.

The fonds mainly documents Ernesto Vinci's career as a singer and his activities as a voice teacher at the Halifax Ladies College and Conservatory of Music, the University of Toronto, and at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Records found from 1999 onwards are of the more personal variety and include personal and family correspondence between Vinci and his wife, and Vinci and his parents and parents-in-law, and other relatives during the 1930s as they tried to escape Germany. There is some correspondence regarding Vinci's efforts to sponsor his sister-in-law and niece after the Second World War.

These records include material related to the Assemblies of the Jehovah's Witnesses (1961-1972); correspondence, reports and newspaper clippings concerning the issue of blood transfusions; the disassociation of Barker from the Witnesses; and records of his ministry with 'Watchtower' magazine. There is also material on the Process Church of the Final Judgement, which consists of correspondence between Barker and other members, records of the Toronto chapter steering committee, contact list of Ontario members and followers, copies of articles for publication in their journal, and a typewritten copy of an unpublished article by Barker, 'Is the Process Church of the Final Judgement Christian? A possible approach' [1971?]. Included in the fonds are speeches delivered while he was engaged in the Jehovah Witness program and talks on religious topics, copies of the 'Yearbook of the Jehovah's Witnesses,' (1945-1976); several editions of 'New World translation of the Holy Scriptures,' (1955-1970), several Witness tracts, incomplete runs of 'Awake,' (1949-1984) including bound volumes (1961-1972), 'Informant,' (1949-1954), 'Kingdom ministry,' (1957-1972), and 'The watchtower,' (1936-1984, incomplete run) and bound copies (1961-1972 - complete runs). In addition, there are reports of the Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses (1946-1969), as well as song books, pamphlets and related material. For the Process Church of the Final Judgement, there are copies of 'Foundation,' and pamphlets including 'The Processeans,' [newsletter] (1972-1974). Also included is a photocopied (corrected in hand) typewritten manuscript by Barker of 'The time of the end: on the trail of the Final Age: Victorian to Aquarian' (1971-1973) and a photocopied, typewritten manuscript of Barker's 'The king of the North and the king of the South: apocalypticism and international politics' (1972-1975), both of which were unpublished.

Fonds consists of records pertaining to the personal and professional life of Italian-Canadian artist Luigi Nasato. These records, dating from 1931 to 2015, document Nasato’s early life and education in Istrana, Italy, as well as his emigration to first Argentina and then Toronto, Ontario. The records primarily pertain to Nasato’s artistic output and include several hundred drawings, sketches, paintings, and preliminary studies created over the course of his career, as well as a number of awards granted to Nasato on the basis of his artistic contributions. Many of the artistic works included in the fonds relate to projects completed in Toronto and environs, particularly to mosaic projects created by Nasato at a number of churches in the region. Fonds also includes notes on art history and artistic technique created by Nasato as both a student and professional artist, as well as miscellaneous textual and financial records pertaining to the practicalities of his artistic career. Also included in the fonds is an extensive collection of photographs and clippings, compiled by Nasato over the course of his life, most of which document works of art created by Nasato and others.

Recordings include performances from the Women's Music Festival, Berkeley World Music Festival, and the Michigan Women's Music Festival.

Fonds consists of material that documents Tenney's career as an composer, musician and academic and contains personal and professional correspondence with friends and colleagues including copies of letters received from such people as Carolee Schneeman, Steve Reich, Stan Brakhage and Lionel Nowak, among others, as well as correspondence with Bell Telephone Laboratories that documents his efforts in developing programs for computer sound-generation. The fonds documents Rick Salutin's career as a writer, journalist, playwright and social activist. Records consist of drafts, correspondence and research materials pertaining to Salutin's writing for a variety of publications including Harper's Magazine, This Magazine, the Globe and Mail, Saturday Night, and Toronto Life. Manuscripts and drafts for theatre, television and radio productions, including Fanshen, 1837: the Farmers' Revolt, Maria, Gorongosa, The Mirror of Hockey, Les Canadiens, Men Against the Desert, S: Portrait of a Spy, Grierson and Gouzenko, and Joey, are also part of this fonds, as are manuscripts, reviews and other materials pertaining to Salutin's books Spadina Avenue, Marginal Notes, A Man of Little Faith, Kent Rowley: the Organizer, Waiting for Democracy, The Age of Improv, and The Womanizer. Also included are personal and professional correspondence, photographs, research materials, lectures, articles about Salutin, awards, travel files, audio cassettes of Salutin's works, records documenting Salutin's work as an instructor at the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, as well as photographs, correspondence, writing, and memorabilia from Salutin's childhood and adolescence.

Fonds consists of records that document the relationships of the York Region Alliance to End Homelessness with community service agencies in York Region, its approach to securing funding and the partnerships developed through research projects, and its role in education and advocacy campaigns for people experiencing homelessness. The records include minutes from general meetings and sub-committees, and funded and unfunded grant application files. The fonds also consists of advocacy undertaken by YRAEH with other agencies and levels of government, membership lists, newspaper clippings and other media coverage, YRAEH publications including research studies, administrative records, educational projects and workshops, and publications related to human services in York Region and beyond. 

Fonds consists of personal publications written by George Thaniel, including his curriculum vitae and the complete collection of The Amaranth journals. Fonds also consists of audio cassettes recordings used by Thaniel in the course of his work as professor of Modern Greek Studies at the University of Toronto. Recordings include interviews with Modern Greek authors and poets, poetry and prose readings, live theatre recordings, and music performances, in addition to discussions and lectures. Audio recordings further include Thaniel reciting his own poetry, as well as a memorial that was recorded posthumously following his sudden death in June 1991.

Fonds consists of Professor John Bosher's notes created during four decades of research in provincial, national, and international archives concerning the lives and activities of merchants, officials, bankers and ships' captains involved in the trade between France and Canada during the 17th and 18th centuries when Canada was a French colony. Also included are research notes developed from the records held in private collections of notarial minutes concerning property and the lives of people active in trade between France and Canada, and copies of secondary literature devoted to this topic.

Fonds consists of records related to the life of Frosini (Frances) Themeliopoulos, including a passport, report cards and certificates from the Greek Community of Metropolitan Toronto’s Greek language school, photographs of association members, and records related to the the Regional Association of Trifylion-Messinias. Fonds also includes a meeting minutes package from a Toronto District School Board designating the month of March as Greek Heritage Month.

Fonds consists of handwritten and typescript novel drafts, source notes, character and scene sketches, and research material accumulated and created by Alissa York as part of her process to write her short story collection, Any Given Power (1999), and her novels: Mercy (2003), Effigy (2007), Fauna (2010), The Naturalist (2016), and Far Cry (2023).

The fonds consists primarily of approximately 50 letters written to Mrs. Thomas Shore, and one to Jennie Shore. Most of the letters were written by Mrs. Shore's son Charles W. Shore, and about thirteen of these were sent to Mrs. Shore by her cousin, Andy Bach. There are also about a dozen letters of recommendations for Ivan Bradshaw Miles Barr.

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Marilou McPhedran through her activities as a lawyer, legal reformer, and activist. These records illustrate the breadth and variety of McPhedran's work in the areas of constitutional reform, women's international and national rights, women's health, and violence against women and children. Included in the fonds are administrative records of a number of non-profit organizations and committees of which she was a founder, including the Women's Legal Education Action Fund, the Gerstein Centre, the Metropolitan Action Committee on Violence against Women and Children, and the Ad Hoc Committee of Canadian Women on the Constitution. Other records in this fonds, including subject files, correspondence and conference materials, document McPhedran's academic, research and writing work and her contracted work for women's health organizations.

The fonds consists of records pertaining to Hersh Zeifman’s research and teaching career in theatre arts at York University, now school of the arts, media, performance and design. The bulk of files contain lecture notes on specific plays, playwrights, and dramatic themes. Also included in the files are course outlines, assignments and other educational administrative records, research material such as newspaper and magazine clippings, playbills, and copies of articles written by Zeifman.
