Records include research notes and index cards, photocopies of newspaper clippings, book reviews, literary criticism, journal articles, and photocopies of material written by or about the Southern Agrarians regarding their lives and work, as well as their correspondence with Rock. The fonds also contains Rock's personal and professional correspondence, drafts of Rock's final dissertation and articles, records concerning her involvement with the Canadian Women's Studies Association, as well as materials pertaining to Rock's work as a professor at York University, including information about Stong College, syllabi, course kits and reading lists, information about symposiums she attended, and items relating to her work as an instructor and advisor for the Graduate Women's Studies Programme. Also included in the fonds are records pertaining to Rock's experience teaching American literature as a Fulbright visiting professor at Jagiellonian University in Krakow between 1962 and 1964. These records, which include photographs, correspondence and memorabilia, document Rock's activities while in Poland as well as her return visits to Poland in later years and her general interest in the country. The fonds contains other documents related to the series' production, including reports, correspondence, meeting notes, handwritten notes, scripts, videocassettes, and promotional items, as well as reports on the CBC's broadcasting policies and the network's promotional material. Also included in this fonds are materials pertaining to Gerber's work as a trainer for the CBC Training and Development Department, miscellaneous internal CBC memoranda (1968-1996), and a file of ephemera and photographs from Gerber's time working at CHUM Radio in Toronto (1961-1964).

The bulk of the records consist of client files which includes correspondence to and from clients; correspondence with publishers, media, sponsors of talks, radio and television producers; publicity material relating to clients including resumes, headshot photographs, schedules, travel arrangements; newspaper clippings; reader's reports; royalty statements; and contracts. There are also audio cassettes and video cassettes of interviews and recordings of the work of some CSWS clients. Notable clients include: Earle Birney, Arthur Black, Harry Boyle, Adrienne Clarkson, Sorel Etrog, Don Harron, Lynn Johnston, Paul Kligman, Mavor Moore, Lister Sinclair, Harry Somers, Ben Wicks, and Chris Wiggins.

There are also general correspondence files, business records (including office diaries for the period, 1951-1965), manuscripts (from clients and unsolicited), and print materials (publishers' catalogues, anthologies of plays, newsletters, copies of labour agreements between the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and ACTRA, and clippings). The records in this fonds document his contribution and involvement in the “Big Blue Machine” of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, the numerous Cabinet portfolios he held in the governments of Premier William ‘Bill’ Davis, his two campaigns for leader of the Party, and the end of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario’s forty-two years in government (1943-1985) and the adjustment of the Party’s new role as Official Opposition.

The notations take the form of manuscript symbols hand-drawn by Warner while a student at Ohio State University (including Labanotation for her dissertation), photocopies of works produced by other notators, and printed works published by the Dance Notation Bureau and the Royal Academy of Dancing. The notations are grouped according to elementary, intermediate, and advanced readings, with titles that often include the name of the choreographer and, in some cases, the notator. The works of Doris Humphrey, Ray Cook, Anthony Tudor, George Balanchine, Muriel Topaz, and Ann Hutchinson Guest figure prominently among the notations. The fonds also includes Warner’s lecture notes on the history of dance notation and Labanotation, material on teaching dance, notes for a lecture on E.A. Fonds consists of 327 letters written by Liisa Lumiala to her friend Terttu Hansen between 1943-1979, ending a few months before Liisa's death from cancer. The first set of letters until 7 March 1948 were written from various places in Finland, as Liisa and her family were moved around by the government from one residence to another. The next set of letters, covering the time period 22 March 1948 to 20 July 1948 were written from various locations in Sweden, where Liisa and her daughter Tytti were waiting to receive their immigration papers to move to Canada.The final set, beginning 30 August 1948 were written in Canada, again from various locations and addresses around Port Arthur, Fort William and Toronto. This collection of letters provides insight into the day-to-day life of a Finnish immigrant woman who moved to Canada to create a new life for herself with her husband and family after World War II.

Fonds consists of music used by the Rex Battle Orchestra, including a series of envelopes arranged alphabetically by song title that contain published scores and lyrics, as well as original arrangements by Rex Battle. Notes written on the envelopes show names of songs, composers and publishers, as well as the music’s key, performance dates, costs of the published music and the breakdown of the scores by instrument. This fonds also consists of orchestral scores and sheet music for the piano, organ, violin, viola, clarinet, and other instruments.

The research files span the activities of Finnish and Finnish-Canadian organizations across the political spectrum, such as the Finnish Organization of Canada (left wing), and Loyal Finns in Canada (right wing). Records include oral history interviews (audio cassettes and transcripts), research notes, clippings, a significant and extensive number of photograph and letter collections passed down through generations of Finnish Canadians, diaries, correspondence, publication drafts, academic and professorial notes, microfilm of Finnish language newspapers published in Canada and archival records, financial records of Finnish-Canadian organizations such as newspapers and post-World War II relief funding bodies, scrapbooks, photocopies of rare and unusual documents such as two volumes of a Soviet register of Finnish War Crimes, a list of persons found in the mass grave at Karhumaki, and Soviet lists of North American Finns who journeyed to Karelia to help build a socialist utopia there, academic and professorial files, publicity files, files pertaining to her work with the School of Women's Studies, and her own papers as a university student. The fonds also includes letters written by Lindstrom as a newly-arrived teenaged immigrant to Canada to her best friend in Finland; many of these letters were published in Finnish with English translation in 'Letters from an immigrant teenager' in 2012.

Hunt’s correspondence with various government officials and travel coordinators documents his enrollment in the Settlement Scheme, and the processes involved in migrating from England to Canada. Hunt’s participation in the scheme is further documented by his accumulation of government publications and legal documents, as well as the journals and receipts that pertained to his farming activities. Photographs and maps depict Hedgerows farm and its location. Newspaper and magazine clippings and other printed ephemera collected by Hunt, while in Saskatchewan and after his return to England, record his continued interest in the fates of his fellow settlers. Although Hunt published an essay recounting his experiences positively, his drafts speak of his ultimate discontent with the Settlement Scheme.

The scripts are arranged alphabetically by title and include, 'Ben Casey', 'From here to eternity,' (1979) on which Siegel worked with several others, 'The last westerner,' with a screenplay by Jack Elam and Siegel, several episodes of 'Peyton Place,' 'Rawhide,' (including script for "Corporal Dasovik," for which Siegel was awarded 'Best western TV drama of the year, 1964,) 'Then came Bronson, (1969), episodes of 'The Waltons,' (1972), 'The bold ones,' 'Hoover versus the Kennedys the second civil war,' (1987) and others. There are also story outlines for possible productions, including movies-of-the-week on American network television.

The collection consists of material related to James Milner's career in the area of community planning law and includes a copy of the article written by Mary Louise Bogart and John Edward Page on Milner as well as correspondence relating to its publication. In addition, there is material on the Town Planning Institute of Canada (TPIC), predominantly materials of a historical nature. There are also several audio reels and cassettes of interviews with planners and members of the TPIC who were Milner's colleagues. Finally, there are some microfilm copies of studies done in the area of land conservation. Some of this material was removed from the Milner fonds during the time it was held by the Faculty of Environmental Studies, York University.
